NBA Player Prop Bets – 12/31
Christian Wood Over 19.5 Points (+100) at FanDuel
Miami Heat at Houston Rockets 7:10 pm ET
The month of December has been outstanding for Christain Wood. While he plays on an underwhelming team, he stands out by a wide margin, and it’s not just because of his 6-foot-10, 214-pound frame. Wood is also an exceptional basketball player, especially when it comes to scoring.
While Wood is averaging 17.5 PPG this season, that average jump up to 19.4 PPG in his past 11 games since December 3.
In tonight’s game against the Heat, Wood’s points total is set at 19.5. He’s gone Over that total in eight of his past 11 outings, including in three of his past four since returning from his mid-month knee injury,
You can get (+100) odds for Woods to score 20 at FanDuel. They are at minus odds everywhere else at the time of this writing.
In a game that should be competitive, I don’t see the blowout factor limiting Wood’s minutes and sending him to the bench early.
Malik Monk Over 14.5 Points (-120) at Caesars
Portland Trailblazers at Los Angles Lakers 10:40 pm ET
Since Malik Monk returned from a five-game absence – he was in the league’s health and safety protocol – he’s played phenomenal basketball and has earned the praise of LeBron James.
Monk will have his ebbs and flows, but on a current Lakers roster hurting sans Anthony Davis, Los Angles is in the need of shooters not named James or Russell Westbrook. Que up Monk, who has scored 15+ points in each of his past three games, including two games with 20+. Monk has also played at least 31 minutes in those games as well.
If Monk continues to garner 30+ minutes, points will also follow. In his past seven games in which he’s played 29+ minutes, Monk has scored 15+ points. He will get another 15 tonight in a game facing a Portland team that allows the fifth-most PPG (111.9) on the year.
Luke Kennard Over 14.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel
Los Angeles Clippers at Toronto Raptors 7:40 pm ET
With Paul George sidelined, the Clippers must find ways to score points. Luke Kennard will be that guy to pick up the pace. While Kennard has had a few rough outings, the month of December has been a good one for Kennard, especially early on. His points total is set at 14.5. He’s gone over that mark in 8-of-13 December showings.
Kennard should see an uptick in minutes and shots without George, which should result in additional points more times than not. If the Clippers are going to try to keep up with Raportos’ scorers, Kennard can ill afford to have a bust night.
I like Kennard for 15, but he could easily score 20 in this one as he’s appeared to have shaken off his late-month struggles, scoring 17 in his last outing at Boston.
If you think Kennard can get to 20 points this time around, you can get (+320) odds at FanDuel.
