NFL Best Bet of the Day – Seahawks vs. Lions

Our best bet wager between Seattle and Detroit will target the Over on Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith’s passing prop. This player prop bet is currently set at 243.5, on a single-unit wager.

The game total for this matchup currently sits at 46.5, signifying professional oddsmakers and sportsbooks are anticipating a relatively high-scoring affair between two of the top teams in the NFC.

The Seahawks have been one of the NFL’s best feel-good stories in the early onset of the 2024 campaign and can attribute much of their success to that of 33-year-old Smith.

Among active starting quarterbacks, Smith ranks third in Completion Percentage (74.8%), sixth in Expected Completion Percentage (71%), and 11th in Average Air Yards Differential (-1.8), per NFL Next Gen Stats.

On the other side of the ball, the Lions defense, specifically through their air, has been suspect thus far this season. As a team, Detroit ranks 21st in the NFL in Opponent Completions per Game (22), 19th in Opponent Passing Yards per Game (216.7), and 25th in Opponent Passing First Downs per Game (11.3), via NFL Team Rankings.

It’s also important to note that Smith has surpassed 243.5 passing yards in two of three games thus far, accounting for a whopping 66.6% success/hit rate.

In addition, the Seahawks also enter tonight’s game as four-point road underdogs, meaning they are likely going to play from behind and rely on their passing game to make plays down the field. With pass-catching weapons such as DK Metcalf and second-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Smith can certainly air it out. Not to mention, veteran Tyle Lockett is back as well.

Look for Smith to exceed his passing prop at a reasonable (-110) price point, making this one our NFL best bet of the day.
