NHL Best Bet of the Day (10/26) – Wild vs. Flyers
Our NHL best bet of the day between Minnesota and Philadelphia will target the visiting Wild to win outright, on a single-unit wager.
Under the leadership of Head Coach John Hynes, the Wild have been one of hockey’s biggest surprises in the early onset of the 2024-25 campaign. Winners of four-consecutive contests, and undefeated in regulation through seven games, Minnesota finds themselves in second place in the Central Division.
As a team, the Wild sit at the precipice of a wide range of advanced metrics/analytics which account for their terrific start to the season. Minnesota ranks first in hockey in both Expected Goals% (68.18%) and Save% on Unblocked Shots (.970), and second in Expected Goals-Against (10.86), via MoneyPuck.
In addition to their stellar advanced metrics, the Wild have also received excellent offensive contributions from Kirill Kaprizov, who has tallied 13 points in seven games, and stud winger Matt Boldy who has registered 10 points through the teams’ first seven games.
Goaltender Filip Gustavsson has also been tremendous between the pipes for Minny posted an emphatic (4-0-1) record, 1.40 goals-against-average, and .953 save percentage, while allowing just five goals against through five starts.
This afternoon, the Wild face off against a lowly Flyers club who have struggled mightily this season, specifically in the defensive end of the rink. Philadelphia ranks dead last in the NHL in Goal-Differential Above Expected (-12.38) and Save Percentage on Shots on Goal (.865).
In addition, as (-135) favorites, that carries with it a hefty 57.45% implied-win probability.
Look for the Wild to remain undefeated and take both points this afternoon at an adequate (-135) price point.
