This matchup kicks off tonight at 7:30 PM ET  between the Oilers and Lightning. In my day, 6.5 goals was a lot in one NHL hockey game, but not in the 2022 product. It is now a scoring league, which is great news for America because we like to bet overs. We love the action. When it comes to scoring, tonight’s matchup features two of the very best that the NHL has to offer. In 49 games, Tampa Bay has logged 167 goals with 3.4 goals per game average, good for 10th best and 8th best in the league respectively. Meanwhile, the Oilers’ shooters have found the back of the net 165 times (12th) in 50 games at a 3.3 GPG rate (10th).

In a game that could very well be tied 3-3 at the end of the third period, we could see this Over met in overtime. I expect the Oilers, who have been on a heater since Jay Woodcroft has taken over as head coach, to keep it close and competitive. The Oilers could even find a way to win this game outright, which may be worth a sprinkle. At the very worst, I believe Edmonton will do its part in the scoring department. We already know that the Lightning will bring the heat score the puck. We only need seven goals for this Over to hit. It wouldn’t surprise me if 7to-9 were scored all things considered.
