Nico Collins Fantasy Outlook 2024 – Another WR1 Year Ahead?

0

The 2024 fantasy football season is close at hand and many drafts will be taking place this month of August. Nico Collins had a breakout season last year but is now part of a three-headed monster receiving corps in Houston. Will he be the alpha among the trio of receivers or will it be a headache every week to determine who will be the most productive? Find out in this Nio Collins Fantasy Outlook 2024.

In this article, we’ll dive into Collins’ 2024 fantasy football value, analyzing last year’s performance, his current team dynamics, and his potential for the upcoming season. We’ll explore his strengths, and potential red flags, and compare him to other wide receivers in the league. Whether you’re contemplating drafting him or trading for him in your dynasty league, this comprehensive analysis will help you make an informed decision on Collins for the upcoming season.

WR Nico Collins Fantasy Football Outlook

Collins’ first two seasons were marred by injuries as he finished as the WR87 and WR72. However, his third year as a pro is when he truly broke out. Ultimately, he finished as the WR18 with 80 receptions, almost 1,300 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns in 15 games.

This year, Collins enters the season with an ADP of WR13 according to the latest FantasyPros data. This makes him a borderline WR1. He is part of an ascending offense under the helm of sophomore quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Nico Collins Fantasy Outlook

There certainly seems to be a lot of mouths to feed in Texans this season. The team traded for former Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs, who joins sophomore sensation Tank Dell, along with Collins, forming a three-headed monster. Not to mention, the offense also has tight end Dalton Schultz and newly acquired running back Joe Mixon.

The lingering question among the fantasy community is, who will be the most productive out of the trio of wideouts? Or do we avoid them altogether? Last year, Collins played primarily on the outside. It is expected that Diggs and Dell will compete for the short intermediate routes.

There are a lot of numbers that demonstrate Collins’ receiving prowess and believe in him being the alpha of the group this season. He was 12th in targets per route run and had the second-most yards per route run. He was seventh in receiving yards per game, and ranked third in yards-after-catch per reception among all receivers.

Dynasty Football Outlook

Collins’ dynasty fantasy football ADP is WR20 which makes him undervalued. At only 25 years of age and tied to a young gunslinger in Stroud for the next three seasons, Collins is a wideout who should be on your radar to trade for.

If you can find a fantasy manager who is unsure of or afraid of the three-headed wide receiver monster in Houston, it would be an opportune time to snag Collins off of their roster. Simply put, he’s a valuable asset in dynasty leagues.

Conclusion

Last year, Collins had the highest passer rating when targeted last season, clearly showing a connection and trust with Stroud. The potential for Collins in the Texans offense to be an elite WR1 this upcoming season exists.

If Stroud is going to take that next step this season (which many believe he will take), and have over 5,000 passing yards to go along with over 30 passing TDs, then someone stands to benefit and be on the receiving end of that. It would not be a shock this time next year if Collins is in the conversation as a high-end WR1.
