Potential TE1 in the 2025 NFL Draft – Scouting the Nation

In this edition of Scouting the Nation, we take a look at a potential TE1 in the 2025 NFL Draft. We are covering two talented players from different sides of the ball today. From Clemson to Northwestern, there are two very talented players in this 2025 rookie class that you need to know.

Jake Briningstool TE Clemson

There are very few game-changers at tight end in the NFL, but Jake Briningstool has the pass-catching ability to be one. He is a high-end separator with good speed throughout his routes and the ability to change direction. Briningstool will also be a seam stretcher at the next level, where his catch radius and hands will stand out. Furthermore, he is a threat with the ball in his hands, as he can make defenders miss and break tackles. Overall, Briningstool is the full package as a receiver, and defenses really struggled to contain him last season.

As a blocker, Briningstool is very willing and does his job. His tape against Miami had several wow plays, and Bringingstool consistently produced on film. He’s a top-50 pick who will push for first-round status this season.

Anto Saka DE Northwestern

In less than 150 snaps last season, Anto Saka was so dominant he recorded 5.5 sacks. He is a natural bender who can corner with ease. Additionally, he threatens the tackle’s outside shoulder with a really quick first step, and his explosiveness allows him to win with speed to power. Not to mention, Saka’s ability to accelerate to finish his pressures into sacks is phenomenal. He can also set the edge and should develop into a high-quality run defender.

What Saka did in such a small sample size was so impressive, and his tape backed up his stats. All in all, he has the talent to be one of the best edge rushers in the nation next season and first-team All-Conference.
