Fantasy Football Rankings and Tiers – Week 8 Quarterbacks
Week 7 saw Lamar Jackson on Monday Night Football, demonstrate clearly, why he is the overall QB1 in fantasy football. Jackson threw for five touchdowns and amassed 34.4 fantasy points. My condolences if your fantasy team went up against Jackson.
There was a blast from the past performance with Russell Wilson leading his Pittsburgh Steelers to a win over the New York Jets Sunday night.
We also saw an injury to rookie Jayden Daniels, who will be week-to-week with a rib injury and an unknown future with Baker Mayfield, when both of his star wideouts left the Monday night game with injuries – Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (out for the season with a brutal ankle dislocation).

Fantasy Football Rankings and Tiers – Start of the Week
Brock Purdy vs. Dallas Cowboys
This game has one of the highest projected over/unders for Week 8 at 47.5 according to DraftKings. As a Cowboys fan, I am fully aware that Dallas’ Achilles heel this year is their run defense. Notably, allowing the 27th most rushing yards in the league. However, their pass defense isn’t elite (19th) either. Overall, this 2024 version of the Dallas defense is light years away from last years.
Unfortuntately, Purdy simply laid an egg last week versus the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Chiefs are a top 10 defense in the NFL, whereas, the Cowboys are in the bottom third. It didn’t help that Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk left the game at various points with injuries. Aiyuk is unfortunately out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. However, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings, who was out last week with a hip injury, should return this week. Not to mention, with George Kittle and rookie Ricky Pearsall.
When these two teams met last year, Purdy threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Keep in mind, that was against a much better Dallas defense. No, I don’t foresee another four touchdown performance from Purdy. However, another 250+ passing yards and two or three touchdowns is definitely attainable. Purdy wraps up our Week 8 quarterback rankings and tiers as our start of the week.
