0

Welcome back to another edition of Scouting the Nation. In this series, we take a look at college football players that you need to get to know before the season kicks off. Whether you’re a hardcore college football fan, looking at the 2025 NFL Draft, or looking to bolster your Devy rosters, this is for you.

In this edition of Scouting the Nation, we take a look at Texas A&M’s top offensive prospect, an under-the-radar tight end out west, and a star cornerback for the Oklahoma Sooners. These are three underrated Juniors that you need to know. Let’s get to it.

Scouting the Nation – Three Underrated Juniors

Trey Zuhn OT Texas A&M

A good-sized left tackle, Trey Zuhn is one of the best pass protectors in the country. He is quick off the snap, with an impressive jump set. Zuhn’s foot quickness is elite, and he pairs it with excellent pad level. Additionally, his length was a major plus on film, allowing him to push defenders outside the pocket.

Zuhn was pretty much flawless on the majority of his tape and took a jump from his 2022 to 2023 film. Only being a 4th-year player, Zuhn could still go back to school, but he has first-round upside for the 2025 or 2026 NFL Draft.

Carsen Ryan TE Utah

One of the best programs at developing tight ends, Utah, hit a home run when they were able to get Carsen Ryan out of the transfer portal. Ryan has a filled-out frame and is a loose athlete. Additionally, he can create separation as a route runner and has really good length to make more difficult catches. There were several flashes with the ball in his hands, and Ryan has a ton of potential as a pass catcher.

As a blocker, Ryan can be effective in-line or working in space. His hands are strong enough to sustain blocks, and Ryan should be a quality blocker at the next level. Ultimately, he might just be the biggest sleeper at tight end in the country.

Gentry Williams CB Oklahoma

Size, length, and game-changing speed are what make Gentry Williams such a good prospect. He is going to check every box teams look for from a measurable perspective, and Williams is a very explosive prospect. Notably, his ball skills are very good, too. Williams looked the part and really stood out against Texas.

Finally, Williams is able to keep up with speed threats deep and also has the hip fluidity to stick with wideouts in man coverage. All in all, Williams projects as a starting outside cornerback in the NFL.
