Scouting the Nation – Week 3 College Football Risers
Jude Bowry OT Boston College
Through three weeks, Jude Bowry has been one of the most impressive offensive linemen in the country. It starts with his build. He looks the part of an NFL player, with great length and overall size. Additionally, his foot quickness and knee bend really stand out, making him an elite pass protector. Bowry’s play strength allows him to anchor on contact, and he is essentially a brick wall against power.
In the run game, Bowry is explosive off the line and has the grip strength to attach to defenders and sustain blocks. After playing less than 100 snaps last season, Bowry is the best player on a talented Boston College offense. All things considered, he is an under-the-radar player with first-round potential. Bowry is that talented.
Daniel Jackson WR Minnesota
The Golden Gophers’ top weapon, Daniel Jackson, does a phenomenal job of getting open. He understands how to attack leverages against man coverage and find openings in zones. His route running is already next level, and Jackson has an excellent stop/start ability to keep defenders guessing.
Furthermore, Jackson has fluid hips to change direction and can win on the outside or in the slot. His separation ability is so good and should translate to the next level. Ultimately, Jackson projects as an NFL starter and should be one early in his career. Look for his name to move up draft boards in this upcoming pre-NFL Draft process.
