Scouting the Nation: Week 6 College Football Risers
Scouting the Nation – Week 6 College Football Risers
In this edition of Scouting the Nation, we take a look at the best performances from week six of the college football regular season.
Caleb Lomu OT Utah
Very rarely do I bring up underclassmen, but Caleb Lomu has the talent to end up as a first-round pick for the 2026 draft. His foot quickness and overall athleticism are fantastic. Lomu has the pop in his hands that jolts defenders on contact, and he is so explosive out of his stance. The traits scream future top pick, and Lomu has gotten better as the season has gone on. He’s the kind of player that is rare for a team to have and looks like a future franchise left tackle at the next level.
Jeadyn Lukus CB Clemson
Clemson is a cornerback factory, and Jeadyn Lukus has all the makings of their next great prospect. He really impressed me in his first start this season against Georgia and then followed it up with great performances against NC State, Stanford, and Wake Forest. On his interception versus Stanford, Lukus displayed high-level ball skills. He is NFL-sized, has a well-built frame, and has the speed to keep up with wideouts deep. Lukus projects as a scheme-versatile starting cornerback at the next level.
Robert Spears-Jennings DS Oklahoma
It was hard to miss Robert Spears-Jennings on the field in weeks one and two against Temple and Houston, and he’s been great the rest of the season. Spears-Jennings is a well-built safety, who can play all over the field. His physicality and play strength show up near the line of scrimmage in the run game, and Spears-Jennings has the instincts and ball skills to be a playmaker in the secondary. He’s effective as a blitzer and is always around the football. Spears-Jennings will be an NFL rookie starter and one of the more underrated players in the country.
