Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets. Week 14 of the 2024 NFL regular season is wrapping up on Monday night. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started last week with. Week 14 ends on Monday Night Football between the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8) and the Dallas Cowboys (5-7). I’ll be breaking down my top NFL player props for this MNF matchup.
NFL Player Props Week 14: MNF Bengals vs. Cowboys
Monday night, we have a matchup between the Bengals and the Cowboys. This game kicks off at 8:15 PM, EST. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Monday’s game.
All props are from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Joe Burrow Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-185)
While the Bengals have struggled to close out games, Burrow and offense have been outstanding. The superstar quarterback leads the NFL with 30 passing touchdowns, averaging 2.5 scores per game. He has had at least two passing touchdowns in 75% of the games, including four of the past five contests. Furthermore, Burrow has averaged 3.8 passing touchdowns per game over his past four contests, totaling three or more in every performance.
Therefore, more aggressive bettors should take the alternate line of three or more passing touchdowns (+185). The superstar has had three or more passing touchdowns in half of the games. Furthermore, Burrow has three games with four or more passing touchdowns (+650), including a pair of five-score performances. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have struggled against solid passing attacks, giving up two or more passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in half of their games.
Cooper Rush Over 224.5 Passing Yards (-135)
Unfortunately, Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9, leaving Rush to take over under center. The backup quarterback was awful in his first start, totaling 45 passing yards against an elite Philadelphia Eagles defense. However, he has been productive since that matchup, averaging 265.3 passing yards per game over the past three weeks, totaling 247 or more twice. More importantly, Rush has an excellent matchup on Monday against a struggling pass defense.
Cincinnati has allowed the eighth-most passing yards to quarterback entering Week 14, giving up 250.9 per game. They started the year playing well, surrendering 272 passing yards over the first two contests. However, the Bengals have struggled since the hot start, allowing 273.9 passing yards per game over their past 10 matchups. Furthermore, they have given up 33.7 passing yards per game over their past three contests, including a season-high 414 to Russell Wilson last week.
Chase Brown Over 25.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Brown has been outstanding as the team’s featured running back. He has averaged 19.8 receiving yards per game this year. However, the second-year pro has averaged 44 receiving yards per game in the four contests since Zack Moss went on injured reserve. Brown has had at least 30 receiving yards in four consecutive games, totaling 52 or more in two of the past three contests. Furthermore, he has become a critical part of the passing attack.
The former Illinois star is second only to Ja’Marr Chase in targets over the past four games. Brown ranks third in targets per game over the past four contests (6.3) behind Chase (12.3) and Tee Higgins (11). More importantly, the Cowboys have allowed the ninth-most yards to running backs, surrendering 37.8 per game. Dallas has given up 28 or more yards to running backs in 75% of their games, including two of the past three matchups.
Rico Dowdle Over 2.5 Receptions (-155)
Despite losing Dak Prescott to a season-ending hamstring injury, Dowdle has played well lately, averaging 110.5 scrimmage yards per game over the past two weeks. He has become a consistent part of the Cowboys’ passing attack, averaging 2.9 receptions per game this year. Furthermore, the veteran has had three or more receptions in 63.6% of the contests. Dowdle has totaled three or more receptions in five of the past six games, including back-to-back outings.
Meanwhile, the Bengals have surrendered 4.2 receptions per game to running backs this season. They have allowed three or more receptions to running backs in 66.7% of their contests, including three of the past four matchups. Last week, Cincinnati gave up six receptions to Najee Harris and four to Jaylen Warren with Logan Wilson out of the lineup because of a knee injury. Unfortunately, Wilson will likely miss his second consecutive game on Monday night.
Ja’Marr Chase to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-150)
Every week, opposing defenses build their game plan around stopping Chase. Yet, the superstar wide receiver continues to wreak havoc on their secondaries. He has 13 receiving touchdowns this season, the most in the NFL, totaling four more than any other player. Furthermore, Chase has tied his career high in receiving scores with five games left in the year. The former LSU has found the end zone in 66.7% of the games this season.
More importantly, Chase has been unstoppable lately. He has at least one receiving touchdown in three consecutive games, totaling two or more twice, including a three-score performance in Week 10. The superstar has as many games with two or more receiving touchdowns as contests without finding the end zone this year (four). Meanwhile, the Cowboys have surrendered a receiving touchdown to opposing No. 1 wide receivers in two of their past five games.
