NFL Player Props Week 15: TNF Rams vs. 49ers
Week 15 of the 2024 NFL regular season is underway. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started the week with. However, the grind never stops. So, let’s not waste any time and get down to business.
We have a critical NFC West matchup between Matthew Stafford and the Rams against Brock Purdy and the 49ers on Thursday night. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Thursday’s game.
All props are from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Matthew Stafford Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-120)
While San Francisco will see significant rain late Wednesday night into Thursday mid-day, the forecast calls for it to stop by kickoff. More importantly, Stafford has been on fire since getting his two superstar wide receivers back in the lineup. The veteran averaged 0.5 passing touchdowns per game over the first seven weeks, totaling one or fewer in every contest. By comparison, he has averaged 2.3 passing touchdowns per game over the past seven weeks.
Stafford had at least two passing touchdowns in all but one of the past seven games. Furthermore, the future Hall of Famer has two four-touchdown performances since getting his two superstar wide receivers back in the lineup, including one outdoors in Week 11. Meanwhile, the 49ers have surrendered 1.5 passing touchdowns per game to quarterbacks over their past six contests. They have given up two passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in three consecutive games.
Kyren Williams Over 69.5 Rushing Yards (-135)
Anyone who likes to bet first team touchdown props should bet on Williams to score the first Rams touchdown on Thursday night. He has had the first team touchdown in 76.9% of the games this season, including three consecutive contests. More importantly, the star running back has been a force on the ground this year, averaging 77.9 rushing yards per game. Williams has had 86 or more rushing yards in 53.9% of the games this season.
Furthermore, the former Notre Dame star has averaged 85.3 rushing yards per game since the first matchup against the 49ers, totaling 72 or more in all but two contests. More importantly, he had 89 rushing yards against the division rivals in Week 3. Meanwhile, San Francisco has surrendered 91.3 rushing yards per game to running backs this year, allowing 101 or more in 38.5% of the contests, including three of the past five.
Deebo Samuel Over 48.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
It’s been a unique week for Samuel. The star wide receiver posted on X how he hasn’t been seeing the ball enough, only to delete the post. Therefore, don’t be surprised to see the 49ers make Samuel the focal point of their offense this week. The veteran has averaged only 46.1 receiving yards per game this season, totaling 22 or fewer in four consecutive contests. However, he has played well against the Rams in his career.
The star wide receiver has averaged 100.6 receiving yards per game in his past five meaningful regular season contests against the division rivals, totaling 95 or more in all but one matchup. More importantly, Los Angeles got obliterated by the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, surrendering 55 or more receiving to four players, including three wide receivers. Khalil Shakir and Amari Cooper had at least 95 receiving yards last week despite having six or fewer receptions.
Puka Nacua Over 88.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Unfortunately, Nacua missed the Week 3 matchup against the division rivals because of a knee injury. However, the superstar wide receiver has been unstoppable since returning to the lineup. He has averaged 96.1 receiving yards per game over the past seven weeks, totaling 98 or more in all but two contests. Furthermore, one of those two contests was in Week 9, where Nacua played only 35% of the snaps before getting ejected for throwing a punch.
Hopefully, the second-year pro can keep his hands to himself Thursday night against the 49ers. Nacua has averaged 110.3 receiving yards per game in the six contests he finished since returning from injury. More importantly, the superstar had 147 receiving yards in his only meaningful career matchup against the division rivals. Meanwhile, San Francisco has struggled against elite wide receivers, surrendering 146 receiving yards to CeeDee Lamb and 133 to Justin Jefferson this year.
George Kittle Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-120)
Last week, Kittle looked like a man among boys against the Chicago Bears, totaling 151 receiving yards on six targets. The star tight end set a season-high in receiving yards last week, totaling 82 or more for the fourth time in his past six games. More importantly, the veteran has averaged 72.7 receiving yards per game this season, totaling 57 or more in 72.7% of the contests, including five of his past six outings.
Meanwhile, Kittle hasn’t had a massive performance against the division rivals in a few years. Yet, that will change this week. The Rams have surrendered 55.9 receiving yards per game to tight ends, the 13th-most in the NFL. However, they have severely struggled with athletic tight end units. Los Angeles has allowed opposing tight ends to total 79 or more receiving yards in 38.5% of their matchups, including two of their past four contests.
