As the season continues, it’s vital to adapt and nail every single lineup decision. More importantly, to determine which players are poised for big performances and which ones might struggle.

Whether you’re considering a breakout running back or grabbing a sleeper wide receiver off the waiver wire, making smart choices in your Week 7 is vital to fantasy football success. Let’s grab another win together this week.

Quarterbacks

START – Daniel Jones (New York Giants)

Daniel Jones has been nothing short of streaky in 2024 for fantasy football purposes. Last week, he managed a disappointing 13.8 points in 6-point passing TD leagues. However, there’s reason for optimism this week, as his star wide receiver rookie Malik Nabers is set to return to the starting lineup.

Furthermore, with the Eagles’ secondary struggling and facing the challenge of playing in a hostile environment in New York, Jones has a golden opportunity to deliver a strong performance. All in all, he’s poised to put up top-12 numbers this week. With Dak Prescott and Caleb Williams on bye, Jones is the perfect plug-and-play option for fantasy football managers looking to bolster their lineups in Week 7. – Brad Rich

START – Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Baker Mayfield has been sensational in 2024, scoring over 22.5 fantasy points in all but one game. While he’s still somewhat of a matchup-dependent player, it’s worth noting that his worst performance came against the Broncos, who boast one of the NFL’s elite pass defenses. In Week 7, however, Mayfield is a locked-and-loaded QB1, set to face the Baltimore Ravens in a game projected to be a high-scoring shootout with a 47.5-point total.

Mayfield’s success isn’t just about his own play—his pass-catching group has been phenomenal as well, averaging 7 yards after the catch and posting one of the lowest drop rates in the NFL at just 8.5%. This efficiency has helped elevate Mayfield’s fantasy ceiling week after week.

The matchup against the Ravens bodes well for Mayfield’s prospects. While Baltimore can put up points, their defense has shown vulnerability in the secondary. The Ravens have allowed the most passing yards in the league this season, along with 11 touchdowns through the air, the third-most in the NFL. Expect Mayfield to capitalize on this weakness and continue his strong 2024 campaign. – Anthony Cervino

START – Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

After laboring through the Jacoby Brissett experience, the Patriots finally allowed rookie Drake Maye to make his debut last week. Facing a formidable Texans defense, Maye racked up over 250 yards while throwing for three touchdowns. He made some big throws and got this Patriots offense to show some life.

For Week 7, he will take on arguably the worst defense in the league in Jacksonville. The Jaguars defense is hot trash, giving up the most passing touchdowns in the league (14) while also allowing the 2nd most passing yards. Additionally, they are allowing the most fantasy points per game (27.5) to opposing quarterbacks.

This year, they have allowed three 300-yard passers and allowed four touchdowns through the air twice. More yet, they have just one interception this year. The Jaguars defense might be worse than the weather in London. Maye should be able to put up at least 20 fantasy points this week. Start em. – Steve DeAngelo

SIT – Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

Jared Goff is riding high after an impressive blowout win in Dallas last week. Impressively, he threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns against a struggling Dallas Cowboys defense. However, Week 7 presents a formidable challenge as Goff and the Lions prepare to face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings

Coming off their bye week, the Vikings are expected to be fully locked in for this crucial divisional matchup. So far, they’ve established themselves as a top defense in the NFL through the first six weeks. At this point, there’s little reason to believe they won’t maintain that dominance against the Lions. Given the tough matchup, it might be best to avoid starting Goff if possible. This game could be a real test for the Lions’ offense. – Brad Rich

Running Backs

START – Tony Pollard (Tennessee Titans)

Tony Pollard has been a rare bright spot for the Titans’ offense this season, especially with Will Levis struggling to find consistency at quarterback. Pollard’s workload has been impressive, averaging 18.2 touches per game, with an impressive 67% of his yards coming after contact. His dual-threat ability also shines in the passing game, commanding 13.4% of the team’s targets while maintaining a stellar 84.2% catch rate.

Pollard checks all the boxes for both opportunity and efficiency, delivering 15.2+ PPR points in all but one game this season. In Week 7, he draws a favorable matchup against a Bills defense that has struggled mightily against opposing running backs. Buffalo ranks second worst in the NFL in terms of fantasy points allowed to RBs, giving up big performances to five different backs over the last three weeks alone, all of whom scored at least 12.7 PPR points.

In a game with a modest 41-point total, we can expect a heavy dose of running and defense. This should give Pollard ample opportunity to shine, especially given the Bills’ recent vulnerabilities. Expect another strong performance from Pollard as he looks to exploit a defense that has been gashed all season by the run. – Anthony Cervino

Pollard has been extremely consistent all season long. Impressively, he’s only had one game under 15 fantasy points this year. Pollard is also averaging 18 touches per game and has been taking the bulk of carries in this offense for Tennessee.

For Week 7, this matchup is very nice as he faces off against the Buffalo Bills. Notably, the Bills give up the 4th most points to the running back position. I expect this Titans offense to lean on the run game given how bad they have been through the air. – Pete Nova

START – JK Dobbins (Los Angeles Chargers)

J.K. Dobbins has been somewhat matchup-dependent in 2024. In games against weaker run defenses, he’s delivered, scoring at least 18.2 PPR points in favorable matchups. However, in two games against top-tier run defenses, Dobbins struggled, putting up fewer than 9.2 points each time.

Coming off a season-high 27 touches for 102 total yards and a touchdown, Dobbins looks primed for another heavy workload on Monday night against the Arizona Cardinals. As the Chargers’ clear workhorse, averaging 18.2 touches per game and handling a touch on 53.3% of his snaps, he’s in a prime position to exploit a Cardinals’ defense that’s giving up 24.9 PPR points per game to opposing running backs—10th most in the NFL. Arizona has allowed seven different RBs to score at least 10+ PPR points, and they’ve conceded six total touchdowns to the position (five on the ground).

Dobbins should be in line for a productive night in Week 7, making him a “start em” in all formats. – Anthony Cervino

Wide Receivers

START – Diontae Johnson (Carolina Panthers)

Diontae Johnson has been a top-10 wide receiver in fantasy points per game since Andy Dalton took over in Week 3. The Commanders have given up the second most receiving touchdowns this season and rank toward the bottom of the league in fantasy points allowed to the position. In a game that opened with the highest over/under of the week, per Draftkings, I like Johnson as a top 15 play this week. – Daman Zimbelman

START – Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins)

I know. Tyreek Hill has been brutal this year with the Tua Tagovailoa injury. Not to mention, the horrendous backup quarterback play and Mike McDaniel’s ineptitude. However, I have confidence in him this week coming off a bye week.

Tyler Huntley isn’t necessarily a terrible quarterback. He has a good arm and has decent accuracy. I think now having started two games plus having the bye week, this offense should return back to somewhat normal. Especially against this Colts defense that is leaking points to wide receivers. Notably, they have allowed four 100+ yard games to wide receivers this year. You can only hold down a wide receiver like Hill for so long and I think he gets right this week. – Steve DeAngelo

START – Jordan Addison (Minnesota Vikings)

Addison gets a nice matchup this week. He takes on a Detroit secondary that has been very susceptible to giving up fantasy points to wide receivers. Notably, Detroit gives up the 7th most points to the wide receiver position. His counterpart Justin Jefferson will be matching up against rookie first-round pick Terrion Arnold. Ultimately, I expect both players to do damage in this game. – Pete Nova

START – Tank Dell (Houston Texans)

Tank Dell finally rewarded fantasy managers who held on to him with a quality performance last week. Catching 7-of-9 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown, Dell also saw his first red zone opportunity since Week 3, finishing with 18.7 PPR points. With Nico Collins sidelined, Dell took full advantage of the increased opportunity in the Texans’ offense.

Heading into Week 7, we’re expecting Dell to maintain his role as a key playmaker. The Texans face the Green Bay Packers, a defense ranked in the middle of the pack against wide receivers, making it a favorable matchup. The Packers have allowed 10 different wide receivers to score at least 10 PPR points, with three of those popping for over 20 points.

In a game with a projected 47.5-point total, this matchup has the potential for plenty of scoring, and Dell is set to be a significant part of it. His role, target share, and red zone involvement make him a strong start for Week 7. – Anthony Cervino

SIT – George Pickens (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Pickens disappointed yet again in Week 6 against the Raiders, despite his team’s big win and a seemingly easy matchup on paper. Now Pickens takes on the Jets and their vaunted secondary that allows fantasy points at a bottom 10 rate in the league to WRs. Despite Pickens’ large target share this season he continues to lack fantasy production, making him an easy bench for me this week. – Daman Zimbelman

Tight Ends

START – Evan Engram (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Evan Engram made a triumphant return to action last week, playing his first game since the season opener. Despite the Jaguars’ offensive struggles, Engram delivered for fantasy managers, catching all 10 of his targets for 102 yards. His impressive performance shows that Engram is a focal point of Jacksonville’s passing attack.

In just two games this season, Engram has been targeted on 27.5% of his routes while averaging 44.5 air yards per game. These metrics indicate his solid involvement and opportunity, which bode well for fantasy success moving forward. Now, he faces a Patriots defense that has been vulnerable against tight ends, allowing 10.2 PPR points per game to the position.

With Trevor Lawrence leaning on Engram’s reliability and familiarity, especially in an offense still finding its rhythm, Engram is poised for another strong outing in Week 7. -Anthony Cervino

DSTs

START – New York Jets

The Steelers are thinking about making a change at the quarterback position. Despite the performance from Justin Fields this year, Russell Wilson is taking first-team reps this week. As we’ve seen, this Jets front 7 can get after the quarterback. Personally, I’m predicting a low-scoring game from the Steelers offense and at least 3 sacks given up. Start the Jets defense with confidence this week. – Pete Nova
