Thursday Night Football Player Prop Bets – 49ers vs Seahawks

0

Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets. Week 5 of the 2024 NFL regular season is in the books. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started the week with. However, the grind never stops. So, let’s not waste any time and get down to business.

NFL Player Props – Thursday Night Football, 49ers vs Seahawks

Thursday night, we have a NFC West divisional matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Thursday’s game.

All props are from All props and odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Brock Purdy Over 250.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Purdy hasn’t had much luck in the touchdown department this season, totaling six scores in five games. He has as many games with zero passing touchdowns (one) as contests with more than one. While that might not change against the Seahawks, expect the former Iowa State star to keep up his volume throwing the ball. Purdy has 1,385 passing yards in 2024, averaging 274.8 yards per game, the fifth-most in the NFL.

The third-year pro has had at least 288 passing yards in three of the past four games. More importantly, Purdy has averaged 281.5 passing yards per game in four career matchups against Seattle, totaling 332 or more in two of the past three contests. Meanwhile, the Seahawks had success early in the year against awful quarterbacks. However, they’ve given up 257 or more passing yards to Jared Goff and Daniel Jones without Malik Nabers in back-to-back weeks.

Kenneth Walker III Over 19.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Unfortunately, Walker had an awful performance on the ground in Week 5, totaling 19 rushing yards on five attempts. However, the former Michigan State star has become a weapon for the passing game under offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. He has averaged 33 receiving yards per game in 2024 after averaging 17.3 last season, totaling 36 or more in back-to-back contests. Last week, Walker had a career-high seven receptions against the New York Giants.

While the third-year pro has struggled on the ground against the 49ers, Walker has had at least 32 receiving yards in back-to-back regular season matchups against the NFC West division rivals. Meanwhile, San Francisco has given up 211 receiving yards to running backs, the seventh-most in the NFL. They have surrendered 42.2 receiving yards per game to running backs this year, including a season-high 86 to the New England Patriots backfield two weeks ago.

Jordan Mason Over 79.5 Rushing Yards (-125)

Mason has been outstanding as the 49ers’ lead running back with Christian McCaffrey out of the lineup. The former Georgia Tech star has averaged 107.2 rushing yards per game this season, the third-most in the NFL behind Derrick Henry (114.4) and Saquon Barkley (108.8). He has had at least 77 rushing yards in every game, totaling 100 or more in 60% of the contests. Unfortunately, Mason has barely seen the field in his career until this year.

However, McCaffrey averaged 129.5 rushing yards per game and 7.4 yards per attempt in the two matchups against Seattle last year. While Mason isn’t an elite running back, he will have his way with the Seahawks’ defense. They have surrendered 122.3 rushing yards per game to running backs since Week 1, giving up 118 or more in all but one contest. Expect Seattle’s poor run defense to continue with Byron Murphy II (hamstring) not playing on Thursday.

Noah Fant Over 20.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

The Seahawks have three talented wide receivers and two capable pass-catching running backs out of the backfield, leaving little volume for Fant. However, the veteran tight end has averaged 27 receiving yards per game this season, up from 22.4 last year. More importantly, Seattle has tried to get him more involved lately. Over the past three weeks, Fant has averaged 36.7 receiving yards per game, totaling 24 or more in every contest.

Last year, the former Iowa star had only six targets in the two games against the 49ers. However, Fant has had at least 32 receiving yards in three consecutive regular-season matchups against San Francisco, including 25 or more in both games last year. More importantly, they have struggled to slow down athletic tight ends lately, giving up 35.3 receiving yards per game over the past three weeks, including a season-high 60 yards in Week 5.

Deebo Samuel Over 54.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Bettors might be nervous to place this bet, with Samuel totaling 11 receiving yards last week. However, the star receiver has averaged 74 receiving yards per game in his other three contests this season, totaling 54 or more in every matchup. More importantly, he has dominated the Seahawks. Samuel has averaged 120.3 receiving yards per game in his past three contests against Seattle, including 79 or more in both 2023 regular season matchups.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks will be without their top cornerback, as Riq Woolen won’t play Thursday night because of an ankle injury. More importantly, they have struggled to slow down outside receivers lately. Last week, Darius Slayton had 122 receiving yards, with Malik Nabers missing the game. Furthermore, Jameson Williams had 80 receiving yards against Seattle on only two receptions. Don’t be afraid to bet Samuel to have over 80 receiving yards (+245) in this game.
