Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets. In this series, we break down Mike Fanelli’s five favorite player prop bets for the upcoming primetime NFL matchup of the week. Today, we have the Thursday Night Football matchup as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants. This game kicks off at 8:15 PM, EST.

Week 3 of the 2024 NFL regular season is in the books. Hopefully, bettors came away with more money in their pockets than they started the week with. However, the grind never stops. So, let’s not waste any time and get down to business.

Thursday Night Football Player Prop Bets

This Thursday night, we have a matchup with Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Daniel Jones of the New York Giants. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Thursday’s game.

All props and odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Daniel Jones Over 200.5 Passing Yards (-120)

Jones is far from the top quarterback in the NFL. However, the former Duke star has played well this season, averaging 200 passing yards per game. More importantly, he has been one of the top quarterbacks in the league over the past two weeks, averaging 207 passing yards per game despite facing an elite Cleveland Browns defense in Week 3. Furthermore, Jones has played well despite having the highest pressure rate (47%) among starting quarterbacks this season (per Fantasy Points Data).

The veteran quarterback has averaged 217 passing yards in the five career games against the Cowboys when playing 100% of the snaps. Meanwhile, Dallas has surrendered 198 passing yards per game to quarterbacks. However, opposing quarterbacks haven’t had to throw against the Cowboys, totaling 31 attempts over the past two weeks. Yet, Dallas has surrendered 13.7 yards per pass attempt in their past two games. Jones only needs 14.7 pass attempts at that 13.7 average to have 201 yards Thursday night.

Dak Prescott Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-130)

Many are disappointed with Prescott’s play over the first three weeks after signing a blockbuster extension before Week 1. However, the star quarterback started last year slowly before averaging 2.7 passing touchdowns per game over the final 11 contests, so bettors shouldn’t panic about his poor start. Prescott has four passing touchdowns this season, including two last week against a talented Baltimore Ravens defense. More importantly, the veteran quarterback always shows up against the Giants.

When these two teams played in Week 10 last year, Prescott had four passing touchdowns on 335 attempts in a blowout victory. Furthermore, he has averaged two passing touchdowns per game in his past five matchups against New York, totaling three or more twice. Meanwhile, the Giants will be without two starting cornerbacks because of injury Thursday night. Expect Prescott to be the third quarterback to have at least two passing touchdowns against New York this season.

Devin Singletary Over 59.5 Rushing Yards (-120)

While many criticized the Giants for allowing Saquon Barkley to leave in the offseason, Singletary has stepped up as his replacement. The veteran has averaged 65.7 rushing yards per game this year, including 80 over the past two weeks, totaling 65 or more in both contests. More importantly, he has been the featured guy in the backfield, accounting for 79.3% of the rushing attempts, including 16 or more in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys had an impressive defense in 2023. Unfortunately, their run defense this year has more holes than Swiss cheese. Dallas has surrendered 98 rushing yards per game to running backs, the fourth-most in the NFL, giving up at least 54 in every contest. Furthermore, they have given up 154 or more rushing yards to running backs in back-to-back weeks. Singletary should have no trouble totaling at least 60 rushing yards against this awful defense.

CeeDee Lamb Over 80.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

The superstar receiver has averaged 72.7 receiving yards per game this season, down from 102.7 last year. Furthermore, Lamb has totaled 67 or fewer receiving yards in two of three games. Yet, bettors should expect Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to force a massive target share to the former Oklahoma star Thursday night. Lamb has had seven targets in back-to-back games, averaging eight per contest this season. Dallas has lost two straight and must win this game on Thursday night.

After showing significant frustration on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, Lamb should take it out on the Giants. The superstar receiver has averaged 111.3 receiving yards per game over his past three contests against the division rivals, totaling 106 or more twice. Meanwhile, New York gave up 86 receiving yards to Amari Cooper last week. The Giants will be without cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson and Andru Phillips because of injury. Lamb will have at least 90 receiving yards.

Malik Nabers Over 67.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Nabers has played a massive role in Daniel Jones’ success this year. The rookie wide receiver has been one of the top pass catchers in the NFL over the first three weeks. He is averaging 90.3 receiving yards per game, the fifth-most in the league, 24.3 more than Marvin Harrison Jr. More importantly, Nabers has had at least 66 receiving yards in every game, including 78 or more in back-to-back contests.

Last year, the Cowboys surrendered 129.2 receiving yards per game to wide receivers, the seventh-fewest in the NFL. By comparison, Dallas has held wide receivers to 111.3 receiving yards per game over the first three weeks, giving up 104 or fewer in two matchups. Yet, Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave both had at least 81 receiving yards in Week 2 against the Cowboys despite Derek Carr having only 16 pass attempts. Nabers should have no trouble against the division rivals.
