Welcome to our NFL single-game breakdown for Week 9 Thursday Night Football. This article will provide a quick analysis of players to consider on FanDuel for this matchup between the Jets and Colts. To kick off Week 9 in the NFL, the New York Jets are set to go on the road to take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are currently 10.5 point favorites with a 46.5 point game total. Zach Wilson will be out and Mike White will continue to start at quarterback for the Jets. Corey Davis and Tevin Coleman are both listed as questionable for New York as well. For the Colts, T.Y. Hilton has already been ruled out.
MVP Options
Jonathan Taylor ($16,000)
Taylor is an absolute workhouse back in a perfect game script being big home favorites. He has averaged 18.4 opportunities over his last five games and has six touchdowns over this time. Also, Taylor leads the NFL in rushes inside the five-yard line. The Jets have given up 115 rushing yards per game and have surrendered 12 touchdowns. Given the Jets’ weak defense, Taylor’s volume, and game flow this has potential top scorer written all over it.
Carson Wentz ($16,500)
If you are not going with Taylor as your MVP, then I would take a look at Carson Wentz. Dealing with early-season injuries, he has still averaged over 18 fantasy points per game. He now gets a Jets defense who gives up over 275 passing yards per game. With a team implied total of 28.5, Wentz will play a big part.
Flex Plays
Elijah Moore ($8,000)
Elijah Moore is starting to look like the wide receiver many were hoping he’d be, after getting all of the preseason hype. He has gotten six targets in back-to-back games and has averaged almost 10 fantasy points per game in those games. He has a rushing touchdown as well, so the Jets are clearly looking to get him the football. Corey Davis is trending to be inactive, giving Moore a continued expanded role. A lot of people are going to be looking at playing Jamison Crowder, but Moore is a nice pivot off the higher owned Crowder.
Tyler Kroft ($6,500)
Tyler Kroft came back last week after being out since Week 4 and posted a 2-20-1 stat line. The Colts have given up 13 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends and five touchdowns. Kroft is at a price point that allows you to jam in the high-end plays while being in a great matchup.
Michael Carter ($13,000), Mike White ($14,000), and Michael Pittman Jr. ($13,500)
I do not mind getting to any of these three as my third option. When playing multiple lineups, it makes sense to mix each of these players into your lineups given the savings you get with Moore and Kroft.
