Welcome to our NFL single-game breakdown for Thursday Night Football of Week 14.  This article will provide a quick analysis of players to consider on FanDuel for this matchup between the Steelers and Vikings. We’re excited to announce that The FF Faceoff is an official Affiliate of FanDuel, so if you haven’t signed up, do so here. Let’s get right to it in Thursday Night NFL FanDuel Picks: Steelers @ Vikings.

For Thursday’s game, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings who are fresh off their loss to the previously winless Detroit Lions. The Vikings are currently 3 point favorites in a game featuring a 43.5 point game total. The Steelers do not have any significant injury news for Thursday’s game. The Vikings have ruled Adam Thielen OUT, while Dalvin Cook is listed as questionable.

MVP Options

Najee Harris ($14,000)

Najee Harris was the consensus number one pick in most dynasty drafts for this season and has had the volume needed to live up to that pick. He has averaged 15.59 FanDuel points per game this season, with 65 yards per game on the ground with an additional 32 yards through the air on 4.8 catches per game. He has also scored in seven of 12 games this season. So far this season, the Vikings have allowed the 12 most FanDuel points per game to opposing running backs. He has seen an average of 52 snaps per game this year, and given his work in both phases of the game, Harris is a candidate to lead the slate in scoring.

Justin Jefferson ($13,500)

Coming off an impressive rookie season, Jefferson has continued to impress for the Vikings. He is coming off a career game with  11 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown last week against the Lions. Adam Thielen went out early last game, so Kirk Cousins looked Jefferson’s way more often, and with Thielen already being ruled out, Jefferson should be in line for a similar workload. Jefferson also gets a Steelers defense who is allowing the 10th most FanDuel points per game to opposing receivers at 29.7 a game.

Flex Plays

Kirk Cousins ($16,000)

Cousins continues to put up very solid fantasy outputs on the back of 279 yards per game and has thrown for two or more touchdowns in nine of 12 games this season. The Steelers’ have been around league average against quarterbacks this season, but have given up big games throughout the season. Cousins provides a lot of safety and is a great option in all formats, especially when going to Jefferson at MVP.

Diontae Johnson ($13,000)

Diontae Johnson is coming off his best game of the year in which he caught eight passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson has garnered double-digit targets in four straight games. and has done so in nine of his 11 games played. The Vikings’ defense has given up the second-most FanDuel points per game to wide receivers this season giving him the ability to put up another big game. The Vikings’ secondary has given up 15 touchdowns this season, which is third-most in the NFL.

Chase Claypool ($10,000)

While Claypool has not had the same target share as Johnson, he still has shown the ability to rack up yardage. With the Vikings’ weak pass defense and Claypool’s ability to break a long play, getting to him in tournaments makes for a nice play.

K.J. Osborn ($8,000)

Osborn should step into the number two wide receiver role this week with no Adam Thielen. Thielen’s absence leaves a massive hole in the offense that Osborn has shown capable of productivity. After Thielen was knocked out of the game last week, Osborn flashed a 4-47-1 line on 7 targets. Given his salary and expanded workload, Osborn makes for a great play.

Pat Freiermuth ($9,500)

The Steelers love going to Freiermuth inside the red zone with his 6’5″ frame and 258 pounds. He is the ninth most target player inside of the 20-yard line for the entire NFL. He has four or more targets in five consecutive weeks. The Penn State product is looking to build on his impressive rookie campaign with a 43-353-6 season line.
