Top 10 Best NFL Jerseys of All Time

Many teams have changed their uniforms throughout the years. Some have changed because of the teams relocating, while others have completely left as one team and started new as another. The fashion of some of these teams you can know, even without not knowing the sport itself. Overall, as times have changed, so have the majority of uniforms. From different styles, colors, and classic designs.

Here are my Top 10 Best NFL Jerseys of  All Time:

10. Baltimore Ravens All-Black Alternates

Baltimore Ravens All-Black Alternates

I had a hard time here between the all-black uniform and the purple color rush from 2016-19. The purple uniforms are bold and made a hell of a good impression on me. All black though just gives it that touch once you add the purple into it. The two colors just go well together and have that Johnny Cash look to them. The white numbers and names on them are the finishing touches that makes this jersey one of the best.

9. 2022 Los Angeles Chargers Alternates

2022 Los Angeles Chargers Alternates

Earlier this offseason the Los Angeles Chargers came out with photos of the many alternate jerseys they were going to wear for the season. There are many to choose from here so I picked them all. It’s hard to hate any of these combinations. From the color rush blues to the alternate whites and the home navy, they all look fantastic with the lighting bolt on the shoulder.

I’m even liking all the pants, including the yellow ones. Adding the lightning bolts gives it that additional piece that brings back the old days of LaDainian Tomlinson blazing into the end zone. Sure it’s funny to see both of the Los Angeles teams wear blue and yellow, but I think overall the Chargers hit it out of the park with this one as they also updated their helmets to the yellow facemask.

8. 2022 Cincinnati Bengals All-White Alternates

2022 Cincinnati Bengals All-White Alternates

When the Cincinnati Bengals came out with their alternate in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins, they just looked sick as the kids say nowadays. The all-white jersey with the Bengals stripes on the sleeve in black along with the numbers. A great addition to this was the Bengals B in orange just under the V of the neck along with the Nike swoosh on the sleeve to give it a nice, rich look.

The white pants with the black Bengals stripe made this uniform look great. Finally, the cherry on top was the white helmet with the black Bengal stripe. Combining all of these deserves a chef’s kiss as the alternate helmets were allowed this year. If you wonder why the Bengals went all white was an inspiration by the white tiger at the Cincinnati Zoo. What a cool way to express it!

7. 1961-Present Green Bay Packers Home Jerseys

1961-Present Green Bay Packers Home Jerseys

The easiest way to say anything about the Green Bay Packers jersey is very classy. Even their away jerseys are very nice. No matter where you’re at, you know it’s a Packers jersey. From the dark green, the thing that catches your eye on this uniform is the gold collar and stripes on the arm.

From raising the Lombardi trophy through the sixties to their 1996 win, 2010 win, and to this day the jersey hasn’t changed at all. This is one of the most iconic jerseys and probably a good thing they haven’t changed it much.

6. 2018 Oakland Raiders White Throwbacks

2018 Oakland Raiders White Throwbacks

Like the Green Bay Packers, the Oakland Raiders had these throwbacks that have been worn very sparingly. The white jersey with the silver numbers is a very contrasting look. Nothing like taking the home jersey number (silver) and putting it on the away jersey. What makes it pop is the black outline on all of the numbers along with the player’s name in black.

These jerseys have been worn sparingly in the Raiders history as they have worn silver on white five times outside of 2018. Thankfully when the Raiders moved to Las Vegas, their team colors came along with them. Hope to see them bring these bad boys out again soon!

5. 1984-92 Patriots Red Home Jerseys

1984-92 Patriots Red Home Jerseys

When many see the old Patriots jersey, they see the patriotic character on the side of the helmet known as “Pat the Patriot”. The red, white, and blue have been a staple for the New England Patriots. What I like about this jersey though is how they interpreted the blue single stripe along with it being outlined in white on the shoulder. Doing this makes it easy on the eyes as some of the ugly red ones don’t flow like this. Topping it off with the white numbers and white name on the back. Looks very rich here and with the throwbacks coming back again, got to see it again in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions.

4. Dallas Cowboys Throwbacks

Dallas Cowboys Throwbacks

America’s team as we’ve all known them to be, the Dallas Cowboys is the only team that wears their home jerseys away and their away jerseys for home. This combination of the ⅔ home with ⅓ away look is solid. Furthermore, adding the star on the shoulder gives this jersey the look it needs. They need to bring this back, along with the white helmets. Solid, clean look and is one I think they should have as their jersey in general.

3. 1985-1995 Philadelphia Eagles Kelly Green Home Jerseys

top-10-best-nfl-jerseys-of-all-time

How can anyone forget about the kelly green jerseys the Philadelphia Eagles used to wear? In recent memory, we were all able to see the Eagles wear them back in 2010. They were also able to alternate the helmet with it and bring back the green helmet with the silver wings. With the remembrance of seeing Randall Cunningham and Reggie White wearing them when I was a kid, the Eagles have gone darker on the green.

The great news is that the Eagles will be bringing back not only the kelly green jersey but also the winged helmet. Looking forward to seeing them again in 2023 and when you do, don’t forget that we reminded you of it!

2. Tennessee Titans/Houston Oilers Throwbacks

Tennessee Titans/Houston Oilers Throwbacks

Before the Tennessee Titans moved from Houston to Nashville, the look was better than what they have now. It was a stapled look being that Texas is known as an oil state and had a lot of oil investors. Back to the jersey though, the baby blues with the white numbers and the red outline has been known to many, including my wife as pretty. The jerseys also have the numbers on the sleeve of the jersey giving it quite the touch it needs.

One nice thing about the Titans’ current jerseys is that they still have tints of baby blue in them. Wishing they could just bring these jerseys back in general.

1. 1976-1996 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Creamsicles

1976-1996 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Creamsicles

Anytime I look at this jersey I think of the great running back Bo Jackson. In 1986, Bo Jackson was selected first overall by Tampa Bay. He refused to play for them because the owner Hugh Culverhouse flew him in for a visit on his private plane stating the trip was approved by the NCAA. It wasn’t, Jackson was ineligible by the NCAA to play baseball and thought it was Culverhouse who sabotaged him. Bo went on to play baseball that year after being drafted by the Kansas City Royals.

The following year he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders and the rest is history. Anyway, the Buccaneers during this time were a bad team only having two winning seasons with the creamsicle jersey. A bad team is hard to get good jersey sales on. Just imagine if they were as good as their jerseys were. These jerseys now are one of my favorites and my number one overall.
