Top 12 Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings 2024

0

When it comes to fantasy football kicker rankings, this is a position that tends to be overlooked. However, that is the wrong section. That starting spot should be valued if you need to start a particular position in fantasy football. Even the fantasy football kicker.

Fantasy football kickers: the often shunned and forgotten knights of the gridiron. In recent years, many leagues have opted to eliminate the position altogether due to the narrative of “no skill needed.” I assure you this is very false. While kickers may not be very flashy players, you can absolutely take advantage of positive matchups, weather, and many other aspects, which is why fantasy football kicker rankings are important.

There are many ways to alter your league’s scoring for kickers. In the Scott Fish Bowl, a very renowned fantasy league, field goals made (FGM) are scored by how far the kick is made from. For instance, a 39-yard FGM gets you 3.9 points instead of the standard 3 points. Those extra fractions can add up very quickly.

Best Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings 2024

For those of you brave enough to utilize the strong-legged leaders of the uprights, I give you the top 12 fantasy football kicker rankings 2024.

1) Harrison Butker – Kansas City Chiefs

The fourth most accurate kicker (94.3%) last season, Harrison Butker is not only reliable but he will get a lot of opportunities. He was also perfect (12 of 12) from 40 yards and beyond in 2023, which are just some of the reasons why is is No. 1 on my fantasy football kicker rankings.

With some key departures from the defense, the offense will have to be more potent which will lead to more scoring. On top of that, Travis Kelce should be fully healthy for the start of the season and first-round rookie Xavier Worthy could be the extra spark the passing game has been missing. You can make an argument for a number of players to top the position, but my money is on Butker.

2) Brandon Aubrey – Dallas Cowboys

Dallas scored a lot of points in 2023 which led to a lot of chances for their rookie kicker. Brandon Aubrey was the biggest story of last season that no one talked about. He converted the most total field goals (36), the most 50+ yard field goals (10 of 10), and the third-highest field goal percentage (94.2%). With such a high-velocity offense in Dallas, we should see a lot of opportunity for this young kicker. If you’re looking to lock in a season-long kicker, Aubrey is one of the safest bets out there.

3) Jake Elliott – Philadelphia Eagles

Jake Elliott is a powerful kicker on a prolific offense. He has made at least one field goal from 56 yards or longer in each of the last three seasons. In 2023, he converted 14 of 15 attempts from 40 yards or more. Couple all of that with the 140 of 143 PATs (point after attempts) over the last three years and you’ve got a kicker you can always count on.

4) Ka’imi Fairbairn – Houston Texans

Almost no one had any faith in Houston last season. A rookie quarterback, unproven receivers, and a new head coach had everyone looking elsewhere for fantasy options. As the season went on, they proved us wrong. Ka’imi Fairbairn was there to do his job along the way and he did it well as the league’s second-most accurate kicker (96.4). He missed just one field goal in his 12 games played – a 51-yarder. With all the offensive cylinders firing and a divisional crown to defend, Fairbairn looks to be a great option for fantasy.

5) Justin Tucker – Baltimore Ravens

Justin Tucker is the epitome of reliability when it comes to NFL players. He’s played in every game over his 12-year career (195 games) while converting an impressive 90.2% of his field goal attempts. Additionally, he is also a seven-time Pro Bowler and eight-time All-Pro while holding the NFL record for the longest field goal ever made (66 yards).

If that wasn’t enough reason to aim for Tucker, he’s converted more than 50 PATs three times in the last five seasons for a Ravens offense that looks to be just as high-scoring again in 2024. The addition of Derrick Henry should help this offense as well.

6) Jason Sanders – Miami Dolphins

Jason Sanders is the kicker beside (what could be) the most prolific offense of 2024. With so many game-breaking, explosive, and talented athletes on the offense, there will be no shortage of chances for this kicker. With 99 PATs made in the last two seasons and the leg to convert from well over 50 yards, you can’t go wrong with Sanders as your fantasy leg. He also made 77 of 78 career field goals against their divisional rivals (Jets, Patriots, and Bills).

7) Matt Prater – Arizona Cardinals

Another kicker with a long and storied career is Matt Prater. He made 15 field goals from 40 yards or more in 2023, the fifth most in the league. Furthermore, he also has more experience (250 games) than anyone else on this list.

Over the years, Prater probably haunts the dreams of a few teams for being extra accurate in their presence. Against the 49ers and the Rams, he has notched 34 of 36 career field goal attempts and he will see them each twice again in 2024. With a stronger, healthier offense and a defense that gave up 51 touchdowns last season, Prater is a solid fantasy football choice.

8) Cameron Dicker – Los Angeles Chargers

In his young, two-year career, Cameron Dicker has been nothing short of awesome at his job. To this point, he’s never missed a PAT or any field goal from under 50 yards (45 of 45). In 2023, he connected seven of nine times from 50 yards or more. To be honest, I might be lowballing Dicker’s position on this list. The only question is how effective the Chargers offense will be with a new coaching staff and a whole different set of skill position players.

9) Jake Moody – San Francisco 49ers

As the rookie kicker of the 49ers last season, Jake Moody lined up for more PATs (61) than any other kicker in the NFL. With very few changes to the offense, we’re likely to see a big number of opportunities for the young kicker again. The only thing keeping him from being higher on this list is his 84% made field goal rate (20th in the NFL).

10) Nick Folk – Tennessee Titans

For the final grizzled veteran on this list, I give you the most accurate field goal kicker of 2023: Nick Folk. With 96.7% of field goals and missing just one 51-yard attempt, he was a breath of fresh air to an underwhelming offensive season for Tennessee. In his last four campaigns, he’s hit more than 92% of his field goal attempts three times – all three ranking as his career bests in that category. If the new pass-heavy offense is successful, Folk will give you many good-to-great weeks of fantasy production in 2024.

11) Younghoe Koo – Atlanta Falcons

On paper, the Falcons look like they could be one of the more potent offenses of 2024. Kirk Cousins is the best quarterback they’ve had in many years with Drake London and Kyle Pitts slotted in as the primary pass catchers. A stronger offense leads to more chances for the team’s kicker. Koo has twice surpassed a 93% conversion rate, as well, showing that he has the poise to reemerge as a valuable fantasy asset.

12) Greg Zuerlein – New York Jets

In 2023, Greg Zuerlein had the second most field goal attempts (38) of any NFL kicker with a conversion rate over 92%. He made 22 of 24 attempts from 30-49 yards and made 5 of 6 from 50 yards or more. Last year was less than ideal for Zuerlein and the Jets, as he only had 16 PAT attempts. If Aaron Rodgers has any magic left and can stay healthy, this could be a very dangerous and very high-scoring team you want a piece of for fantasy.
