Top-12-Superflex-Dynasty-Fantasy-Football-Rankings

With the NFL offseason coming to a close, it’s time to rank the 12 best players in the dynasty fantasy football landscape. These rankings are done in a Superflex format which makes quarterbacks extremely valuable.

In dynasty leagues, you can end up having a player like Patrick Mahomes on your roster for the entirety of his NFL career. Needless to say, quarterbacks have massive long-term value. Plus, you can start two of them every week. That said, let’s dive into these Top 12 Superflex Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings.

1. Patrick Mahomes

In a Superflex format, the number one player has to be a quarterback. With how valuable the position is in Superflex, there’s no better asset to build your team around than Patrick Mahomes. Josh Allen is also in the mix; however, Mahomes will likely be more productive in the long term.

Mahomes has been phenomenal since taking over as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback in 2018. Since then, Mahomes has averaged 23.48 PGG. Mahomes is regarded as the best quarterback in the league, which is well deserved.

There’s so much talent with Mahomes that he can succeed in any situation for a long time. This long-term value makes him the number-one ranked player in a dynasty Superflex format.

2. Josh Allen

Josh Allen is a tremendous player and my number-two-ranked player in dynasty. Allen has been fantastic since his breakout season in 2020, where he averaged 24.7 PPG. Since coming into the league, Allen has always had the potential to be great.

Nevertheless, he didn’t become the star he is today until the additions of Sean McDermott and Stefon Diggs. These two will likely be there for the next few years, which is excellent for Allen.

One concern about Allen is his ability to stay healthy for the long term. Allen relies on his rushing ability for a lot of his fantasy success which is a historical red flag. Despite standing at 6′ 5″ 238 pounds, Allen takes some scary hits. Nonetheless, Allen is a top cornerstone asset in a Superflex league.

3. Joe Burrow

The number three spot is where there becomes some disagreement in the fantasy world. Joe Burrow has been great, averaging 19.6 PPG in his first three seasons in the league. Every year, Burrow has improved from a fantasy perspective, which is excellent.

Burrow has a great offense that is willing to pass the ball a ton, giving him amazing upside for fantasy football purposes. Additionally, the Bengals wide receiving core is otherworldly and young, with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Both of these wide receivers are under 25, giving Burrow exceptional upside for the foreseeable future.

4. Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts had a remarkable 2022 season which has jumped him up in these rankings. Hurts has averaged 23 PPG since becoming a starter and put up 25.2 PPG last year. This past year Hurts took a huge step up as a passer, but his running ability is what makes him so good.

I’m not as willing to invest in these running quarterbacks as highly in dynasty leagues due to the injury risk they possess. Nonetheless, Hurts is a phenomenal player in a good Eagles offense with weapons like A. J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert.

Recently, Hurts was named the highest-paid player in NFL history after receiving a five-year, $255 million extension. This shows the long-term commitment the team has to Hurts. I expect Hurts to dominate the NFL for quite some time.

5. Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert is a player who looked outstanding during his first two years in the league but took a step down in 2022. To be fair to Herbert, he had limited weapons, with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams missing significant time. In addition, Joe Lombardi wasn’t a great offensive coordinator as the team brought in Kellen Moore, who loves to push the pace of play this offseason.

Even though Herbert doesn’t have an elite offense, he was fantastic his first two seasons averaging 22.3 PPG. Due to how talented Herbert is, having him at the five spot is fair for dynasty fantasy football leagues.

6. Trevor Lawrence

One of the biggest risers at quarterback this past season has been Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence was one of the most hyped-up prospects coming out of Clemson but had a horrible rookie year, averaging 11.4 PPG. Regardless, in 2022 Lawrence broke out in week six and averaged 17.4 PPG throughout the rest of the year.

This offense looked fantastic last year, and the Jaguars brought in even more weapons in the offseason. Calvin Ridley is a massive signing for this team, and if he can get back to his former form, Lawrence will benefit immensely. Lawrence also has some great pass catchers in Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Travis Etienne. I expect Lawrence to keep improving as he enters year three of his NFL career.

7. Justin Jefferson

In a Superflex format, the 7th spot is where I feel comfortable taking my first wide receiver. Justin Jefferson is a generational talent who has excelled since he entered the league. In his first three years, Jefferson averaged 19.4 PPG, which is unbelievable.

Even though quarterback is the most important position in a Superflex format, it’s hard to pass up a wide receiver of that caliber. It makes a lot more sense to build your team around a wide receiver that will be elite for the next ten years instead of reaching on a quarterback.

8. Ja’Marr Chase

I have my second-ranked receiver Ja’Marr Chase back to back with Justin Jefferson. Both were elite-level prospects coming out of LSU. In just his first two years, Chase has averaged 19 PPG, which is almost as good as Jefferson.

There are so many things to like about Chase, and he is an exceptional talent connected to an elite quarterback, Joe Burrow, for the long term. Chase looks to keep improving, and he’s a wide receiver I’m comfortable building my team around.

9. Justin Fields

Just below these two wide receivers, I have Justin Fields due to his incredible upside. In 2022 Fields was a fantastic runner, and he had a 19.7 PPG season. Unfortunately, this Bears offense was terrible, as the team had the lowest passing yards per game in the league.

Things this offseason are finally starting to look up for this offense after the Bears got a haul for their number-one pick. Fields finally has a true wide receiver one in DJ Moore, and this team has a ton of draft capital and cap space.

There are still questions about if Fields can take the next step as a passer. There is a good chance he does so, as he was an elite passing prospect coming out of Ohio State. Fields has phenomenal rushing upside, and if he improves as a passer, his value will go through the roof.

10. Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson is also a rushing quarterback with the upside to break fantasy football. Unlike Fields, Jackson has proven himself as a passer and has been able to produce for multiple years in a row. Since taking over as the starter, Jackson has averaged 22.4 PPG.

There are some causes for concern with Jackson in his contract situation and health. If Jackson does end up leaving the Ravens or, even worse, sitting out, this will be detrimental for him. Even if Jackson plays, there are still some concerns about the health of these rushing quarterbacks, as we discussed earlier.

Over the past two years, Jackson has missed at least five games which is less than ideal. Jackson is a great player when he’s on the field, but his injury and contract concerns drop him down these rankings.

11. CeeDee Lamb

At the number 11 spot, we have our third wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb. Coming out of college, Lamb was a highly touted prospect who has improved every year in the league. This past year Lamb took the step into the elite tier after averaging 17.7 PPG.

This Cowboys offense has historically always been good, and I don’t expect this to change in the future. On top of this, Lamb is connected to Dak Prescott, who, despite a rough last season, is a good quarterback and only 29 years old. I expect Lamb to keep improving, as he is only 24 years old.

12. Bijan Robinson

For many people having a rookie this high will be controversial. Nonetheless, with how the running back landscape has changed, I have Bijan Robinson as my RB1. Robinson is an elite running back prospect who will be a bell-cow back at the next level. We made the case for Robinson being the RB1 overall in dynasty leagues, here

A crucial factor when looking for a running back is age. Since Robinson is only 21, he will have 5-6 plus years of elite production, which is more than you can find anywhere else. Due to Robinson’s long-term value at the running back position, he needs to be a top-12 dynasty player.
