  22. Christian Harris (LB)

  24. Kyler Gordon (DB)
  25. Kwity Paye (DL)

Brian Burns (DL) Age: 24 – Carolina Panthers

Burns is one of the key players for the Panthers and one of the best young defensive ends in the NFL. Last season he finished with career-highs in both sacks(12.5) and tackles(63). Since entering the league he has recorded at least seven sacks in each season. Burns finished 2nd in defensive snaps(951) last season and had five games with 20 or more fantasy points. I expect him to continue to improve and have several more double-digit sack seasons.

Tremaine Edmunds (LB) Age: 24 – Chicago Bears

Edmunds, who was a first-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2018, signed a four-year $72 million deal with $50 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears. It is the largest four-year deal for an inside linebacker. He has recorded over 100 tackles in all five years in the NFL. Edmunds has just two games with fewer than 10 fantasy points in the last two seasons. Furthermore, he has only missed eight games in five seasons. All in all, he is a remarkably consistent scorer with over 200 fantasy points every season and provides a safe floor for fantasy football purposes.

Jalen Thompson (DB) Age: 24 – Arizona Cardinals

Thompson has back-to-back seasons with over 100 tackles. In tackles among defensive backs, he ranked 2nd in 2021 and 8th in 2022.  Last season he had six games with eight or more tackles as well as eight games with at least 15 fantasy points. Jalen Thompson played on an impressive 99% of the snaps. He is a young and talented safety poised to have a successful career in the NFL and for fantasy.

Pete Werner (LB) Age: 23 – New Orleans Saints

Werner is known for his versatility, athleticism, and football IQ. He dealt with some injuries(ankle, hamstring) in the second half of last season and missed five games. In the first eight games when fully healthy he played extremely well. In those eight games, he played at least 80% of the snaps and scored at least 12 points in all eight games. He also recorded eight or more tackles in five of those eight games averaging nearly nine tackles a game. Werner has quickly established himself as a promising young talent.

Kayvon Thibodeaux (DL/LB) Age: 22 – New York Giants

Thibodeaux was the consensus No. 1 recruit coming out of high school and didn’t disappoint for the Oregon Ducks. He was then selected 5th overall by the New York Giants. He possesses a rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism that makes him a nightmare for opposing offenses.

Thibodeaux had an up-and-down season with some injuries that caused him to miss the first two weeks. He had fewer than five tackles in each of his first 10 games and just one sack. However, in his last five games he recorded three sacks and at least five tackles in four of those games. He showed some flashes as a rookie and recorded five quarterback hits in a single game confirming the hype surrounding him as a prospect. Overall, he is a player to watch as he continues to develop and grow in the NFL.
