Fantasy Football – Start Of The Week

Kenneth Walker vs. PHI

The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a running back outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kenneth Walker is my start of the week.

Kenneth Walker was viewed as an elite fantasy running back just a few weeks before his injury, but since then, he has seen a dramatic fall. At the time, I was also in agreement that Walker needed to be dropped down in the rankings because he’s not involved as a pass catcher. Zach Charbonnet has officially taken over as the third down back, which really hurts Walker.

That said, having Walker this low is too much of a correction. Even though I don’t like this matchup for Walker, and he could see limited playing time, let’s not forget one thing. Walker is an extremely talented back, and the back end of the running back landscape is disgusting. When faced with these tough choices at RB2, I’ll always bet on the talent or workload.

Now, don’t get me wrong, you shouldn’t expect RB1 production from Walker. In fact, the Eagles have allowed the second least fantasy points to running backs (16.82). Interestingly, the Seahawks have jumped from 5.5-point underdogs to 3-point underdogs on Odds Shark. Cutting the spread almost in half is massive for Walker and the game script. Although Walker isn’t an RB1 in week 15, he has the talent to give you a solid RB2 week.
