Week 2 Fantasy Football RB Rankings and Tiers (2024)

0

Week 1 of the 2024 fantasy football season is officially in the books. Saquon Barkley and Joe Mixon got off to a blazing start with their new teams. Christian McCaffrey was a surprise inactive Monday night (I promise you I am not bitter!) resulting in backup and now super handcuff Jordan Mason to explode against the New York Jets. Here you will find my top 24 Fantasy Football RB rankings and tiers for Week 2.

Each week, I’ll separate them into tiers along with one “Start of the Week.” Let’s get right into it.

Week 2 Fantasy Football RB Rankings: Start of the Week

Kyren Williams at Arizona Cardinals

Perhaps the Kyren Williams handling punt returns and leading to his demise was a bit overreactive and premature? Williams led the Rams backfield with a ridiculous 91% snap count share in Week 1. Ronnie Rivers NOT Blake Corum was second on the team at 9%. For those of you who find math challenging, that means Corum did not have one single snap during the game.

Everyone will point to William’s 2.8 yards per carry average against the Lions in Week 1 and that the Corum takeover is inevitable. Yeah, 2.8 YPC is not ideal or good. However, the Lions last year (and it seems like this year as well) had one of the strongest defenses against the run. They allowed the second-lowest rushing yards per game in 2023. Yet, Williams finished the game with 14.4 fantasy points and ended the week as a low-end RB2.

This week the Rams are up against the Arizona Cardinals, and this game has one of the highest projected over/under for Week 2. The Cardinals last season ranked last in rushing yards allowed per game. James Cook and Josh Allen ran all over this defense in Week 1. With wide receiver Puka Nacua on IR, look for the Rams to lean on the run a bit more this week. All signs point to Kyren having an elite RB1 finish this. Let the Blake Corum truthers fantasize and stay away for one more week.
