Week-7-DraftKings-Bargain-Bin-Plays-and-DFS-values

Week 7 is upon us and this week’s slate features 11 games with The Bills, Eagles, Rams, and Vikings all on their bye weeks. New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals play Thursday night, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, capping the week off with the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots. We lose some well-known names this week’s main slate between the bye weeks and the primetime games, but that’s okay, that’s why you’re here.

Before I break down all of our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, three-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing. Along with having a $50,000 budget to build a complete lineup.

Quarterbacks

Derek Carr ($5,900)

Through five games Derek Carr is averaging 36.8 pass attempts, 22.6 completions, 255.8 yards, and 1.6 touchdowns. Outside of a down performance in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, Carr has been quietly putting up QB1 numbers. Having him here at QB9 for the week and at the brink of $6K, I’m in for playing him this week. The Houston Texans show as on OPRK 9th against the quarterback position, but have given up an average of 260 passing yards, 0.8 touchdowns, and 1.2 interceptions.

Carr hasn’t thrown multiple interceptions since Week 1, where he threw three. The Texans have had at least one interception outside of week 4 when Justin Herbert went for 340 yards and two touchdowns. This defense isn’t as good as the sheet says, and with Carr coming off a bye, I can see him going over 300 yards with multiple touchdowns.

Jimmy Garoppolo ($5,500)

After having to air it out in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons, I’m expecting Jimmy Garoppolo to be asked to do it once again against the Kansas City Chiefs. Garoppolo has been a game manager most of his career and is still yet to break the 20-point mark here. With San Francisco’s defense being banged up and the Chiefs coming off a loss, I can see Garoppolo doing what he did against the Falcons (29/41 for 296/2/2), and breaking the 300-yard mark to help boost him over the 20 points for the first time this season.

Running Backs

Kenneth Walker III ($5,800)

We saw the coming out game of Kenneth Walker III as the starting running back with no Rashaad Penny. At around 20% ownership in Week 6, Walker was able to put up 19 points on the week finishing as the RB7. This week, his ownership should increase as he gets the 30th-ranked Los Angeles Chargers. Teams against The Chargers on averaging, 19.6 carries, 114.6 yards, and .5 touchdowns. That’s including Monday night’s game where Latavius Murray came in and put up 15 carries for 66 yards. Walker and the Seahawks are better than the Broncos, and I see Walker really breaking out here in Week 7.

Travis Etienne Jr. ($5,400)

The mini breakout of Travis Etienne continues and each week he’s getting better and so are those touchdowns. The split between Etienne and James Robinson is at 50/50 and soon will flip as Etienne is looking like the better back right now. Like I said last week about J.K. Dobbins against the Giants. The Giants give up yardage, not touchdowns. But hey, they just gave up their second touchdown on the season to Kenyan Drake who went 10/119/1.

Kenyan Drake ($5,100)

Leading us to our last running back this week in Kenyan Drake. Something more must be wrong with J.K. Dobbins than the “knee tightness” they are telling us. One thing that the Ravens do tell us is that no matter who is in the backfield, they run them. This week as long as Dobbins is out or very limited, I like Drake’s chance again this week to get into the end zone as the Cleveland Browns have allowed nine rushing touchdowns over their last four games.

Wide Receivers

JuJu Smith-Schuster ($5,600)

Over the last four games now, JuJu Smith-Schuster has seen his target share decline, with Week 6 being his lowest (14%) and making his overall share 18%. He did turn that into five catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. If the Chiefs are smart, which Andy Reid is, he will figure out a way again to get Smith-Schuster the ball. Don’t let this banged-up secondary scare you in the 49ers either. Look for JuJu to have another big week again.

Michael Gallup ($5,100)

With the return of Dak Prescott looking like a go for Week 7, I’m excited to start the WR2 for the Dallas Cowboys this week. Michael Gallup has seen his snaps go up (66%) over the last three games and finished second in targets (seven) behind CeeDee Lamb in Week 6. Going up against the Detroit Lions defense, you can pretty much do whatever you want to them. Jeff Okudah had a bad game against the Patriots, but outside of that has been shut down and will more than likely be on Lamb. The other corner, well who cares as everyone has been able to torch them there.

Romeo Doubs ($5,000)

The Romeo Doubs breakout came to a stop two weeks in a row now and we should prepare for it to start back up again this week. He had a career-high nine targets last week but only turned them into four catches for 21 yards. Last week the Washington Commanders had a rough time slowing down Darnell Mooney. Furthermore, the Packers lost Randall Cobb last week and Aaron Rodgers is pissed. Expect this to be a get-right game for Doubs and the Packers.

Wan’Dale Robinson ($4,500)

Finally, we’re on our last wide receiver and another rookie who is the last man standing in Wan’Dale Robinson. The second-round pick was finally able to get back on the field since Week 1. He only had four targets but was able to turn that into three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown. Daniel Jones will need him to show up again this week and we could see another rookie making a name for himself this week.

Tight Ends

Gerald Everett ($4,000)

If Keenan Allen is still out this week, Gerald Everett would be an easy smash this week. Monday night, Everett was used more as a blocker and turned into a security blanket because of the Denver Broncos’ pass rush. He was able to secure five of his seven targets for 29 yards. It was very pedestrian and a down week, but this week they get the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks give up the most points to the tight end position, and Everett will be getting a “revenge game” against his old team in front of the Chargers crowd. Why not?

Noah Fant ($3,100)

On the other side, I also am a fan of playing Noah Fant. Over the last two games, Fant has been getting more targets than Will Dissly. He has 12 targets compared to Dissly’s four and has been the better of the two. Fant could have himself a week as the Chargers defense is still healing. Fant is still young and extremely talented, and will only get better as he gets used to his new team.

Cade Otton ($2,700)

After Cameron Brate left the game with a scary injury, he ended up having a concussion. My guess is that he won’t be able to play and will be out for more than just this week. Cade Otton should be starting and could have a game similar to last week where he had six catches for 43 yards.
