16. New Orleans Saints (via IND): OT Trevor Penning, Northern Iowa

The Saints moved up with the Eagles after a trade on Monday evening, and many think this was to grab a quarterback. There could be offensive tackle options available here that would fit better than reaching for a quarterback.

17. Los Angeles Chargers: OT Charles Cross, Mississippi State

The question is — is there a reason the Saints moved ahead of the Chargers? The answer likely is that they want to grab one of these offensive tackles before the Chargers do. Lucky for the Chargers, Cross is here for them to select.

18. Philadelphia Eagles (via NO): CB Trent McDuffie, Washington

Do the Eagles select a linebacker in the first round? Of course not. Many thought the Eagles might select a quarterback with one of their three first-round picks. With them also receiving the Saints’ first-round pick next year, they could look to address that option next year if Jalen Hurts doesn’t take a major step. Taking a cornerback to play opposite of Darius Slay will go a long way to preserving this secondary and is a smart option for them here.

19. New Orleans Saints (via PHI): QB Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh

Now that the Saints have two first-round picks, after selecting an offensive tackle with their first one and Pickett falling, it would be interesting to select him before the Steelers’ next pick. They can let Pickett sit behind Jameis Winston for a year and groom him for the NFL level.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: iOL Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa

After seeing Pickett and Willis selected earlier in the draft, the Steelers should look elsewhere, whether that’s a trade or addressing the offensive line. Linderbaum has taken a step backward after his official measurements came in, but there’s no denying his talent level.

21. New England Patriots: LB Nakobe Dean, Georgia

The Patriots have a variety of ways they could go with their pick, but getting linebacker depth seems the most logical. They could look at the receiver position, but with the depth of this class, you can address a defensive need first. Dean plays hard, fast and physical and will bring another element to this defense at the second level.

22. Green Bay Packers (via LV): WR Chris Olave, Ohio State

After trading away Davantae Adams to the Raiders, if a wide receiver wasn’t a need before, it surely is now. Many scouts and teams have shown a lot of love to Olave, and while he doesn’t currently own the physical traits of Adams, he surely has the ceiling of being a guy that can be a WR1 at the next level.

23. Arizona Cardinals: EDGE Jermaine Johnson, Florida State

The Cardinals are another team that lost a big piece of their team as they watched Chandler Jones go to the Raiders. Now, an edge rusher is a big need for the team. Johnson is a tremendous athlete with great length and a very solid pass rusher that could go much higher. Having him fall to them at 23 is a big get for the Cardinals.

24. Dallas Cowboys: DT Travis Jones, UConn

One of the biggest risers after the Senior Bowl was UConn’s defensive tackle, Travis Jones. A big, physical athlete, Jones is a menace to offensive linemen on the interior. Paring him inside with Damarcus Lawrence on the outside would make for a dangerous combination.

25. Buffalo Bills: iOL Zion Johnson, Boston College

The Bills have one of the best rosters in the NFL, BUT one area they can get better at is the offensive line. Zion Johnson rose through the rankings on draft boards throughout the year and likely solidified his ranking in the first round after a tremendous combine and a phenomenal Senior Bowl week.

26. Tennessee Titans: OT Daniel Faalele, Minnesota

Faalele seems to fit what Vrabel likes in players — big, strong, physical. He can play either side of the offensive line, and if a man of his size can move as he does, there’s no reason the Titans shouldn’t pass on him in the first round.

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: EDGE Boye Mafe, Minnesota

Mafe is an edge rusher that can also pair as an outside linebacker. He’s a great pass rusher with a high ceiling, but he can also be a guy you can drop back in coverage. The long-term future of Shaq Barrett is a bit in question, and getting a guy like Mafe to plugin to start in the future will be huge for this defense once the time comes.

28. Green Bay Packers: OT Tyler Smith, Tulsa

The Packers got Aaron Rodgers his receiving weapon earlier in the draft — now it’s time to add protection for the future Hall of Famer. Smith is a phenomenal tackle with great hand technique and footwork. He’s strong in pass protection but can also help open running lanes on the edge.

29. Kansas City Chiefs (via SF): WR Jameson Williams, Alabama

This seems unfair. The Chiefs trade Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins but then have the speedster Williams fall to them at 29. If this is the case, there’s no doubt the Chiefs are thrilled about trading what would have been a very expensive receiver for a player with similar speed on a rookie contract.

30. Kansas City Chiefs: DE David Ojabo, Michigan

After tearing his ACL during his pro day, Ojabo was set to be a top 20 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The thing with Ojabo is that he’s a raw prospect who is still learning the game of football. He’s still very new to the game, and with his current talent and high ceiling, falling to pick 30 for the Chiefs, letting him sit a year to get healthy and learn the game is the best thing for Ojabo.

31. Cincinnati Bengals: CB Andrew Booth Jr., Clemson

The Bengals got a lot better on the offensive line during free agency, and with the top offensive tackle prospects going earlier in the draft, they can turn to the defensive side of the ball and address their secondary. Booth was once regarded as a top-tier cornerback prospect and likely could come off the board a lot earlier, but if he’s here for the Bengals, you pull that trigger and instantly get better on defense.

32. Detroit Lions (via LAR): WR Treylon Burks, Arkansas

The Lions took their edge rusher — now let’s get Jared Goff another receiving option. Amon-Ra St. Brown is going to be a really good receiver in the NFL, but getting a secondary option that can play inside or outside with good hands and play-speed like Burks would go a long way to improving their offense.
