6 Veterans to Buy Now in Dynasty League Football

Aaron Rodgers (QB) New York Jets

First up is the veteran quarterback himself, Aaron Rodgers. After getting injured in Week 1, the Jets had an unfortunate season after such high hopes in preseason. Recently, it’s been reported that Rodgers wants the Jets to make a move for Davante Adams. This might be the absolute best-case scenario for both Rodgers and Adams, not to mention, for the Jets offense as a whole. A WR duo of Adams and Garrett Wilson would be one of the best in the NFL.

In dynasty leagues where you might have some questionable QB options, Rodgers is someone you can buy for cheap and brings you plenty of upside. He’ll be around for at least a few more seasons and the Jets will be going all in to win now.

Derrick Henry (RB) Free Agent

Set to hit the market as a free agent, veteran running back Derrick Henry is likely to get a new home in 2024 and beyond. After eight seasons in the NFL, it will certainly be something to see the stud running back in another uniform. Despite having a “down” season this year, Henry still had over 300 total touches, 1,167 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Moving forward, the Titans will be looking ahead to life after Henry, likely in Tyjae Spears or another running back in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old running back is someone you might just acquire in your dynasty leagues. Finally, you can get whatever production you can for the rest of his time in the NFL. Where he ends up, he’s likely going to end up getting some usage and goal line work in the future.

Chris Godwin (WR) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With veteran wide receiver Mike Evans hitting the free agent market, the wide receiver position is going to be interesting in Tampa Bay. After the way Baker Mayfield played, it’s looking like he’ll end up with the Buccaneers for at least a few more seasons. It’s also been made clear that Mayfield wants Evans back in Tampa.

Meanwhile, Godwin is heading into his eighth season in the NFL. While Evans has been getting his 1,000 yards every year, Godwin has quietly been averaging just under 1,000 per year himself. In total, he has gone over 1,000 yards four times, including three straight seasons hitting that number.

Travis Kelce (TE) Kansas City Chiefs

With the Kansas City Chiefs winning back-to-back Super Bowl Championships, the future around Travis Kelce is a bit questionable. While his brother, Jason Kelce, has already announced his retirement, it certainly wouldn’t be too surprising if the star tight end hangs it up. However, there’s a chance he sticks around with Mahomes and just wants to win as many rings as possible. Overall, Kelce is someone worth acquiring in your dynasty leagues and just riding it out.

DeAndre Hopkins (WR) Tennessee Titans

After signing a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had a solid season with the team. In total, he had 1,057 receiving yards and 7 total touchdowns. Notably, he saw 137 targets and caught 75 of them. Needless to say, he still has some juice left in him and despite the uncertainties around the quarterback position in Tennessee, Hopkins can get it done. Whether the Titans bring back Ryan Tannehill, roll with Will Levis, or draft a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, Hopkins is someone worth acquiring on your dynasty football rosters.

Marquise Brown (WR) Free Agent

Outside of Michael Pittman and Calvin Ridley, one of the best free agent wide receivers this year is Marquise Brown. Heading into his sixth season in the NFL, Brown is coming off the worst season of his NFL career. With just 574 yards and 4 touchdowns, Brown was a disappointment, much like Kyler Murray and the rest of this Arizona Cardinals offense. All things considered, I wouldn’t rule out a reunion with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
