9 Dynasty Players To Buy Before It’s Too Late

With the preseason ending, all attention now turns to the regular season. There are a bunch of players I have had my eye on all offseason that are extreme buy low candidates for dynasty leagues. Come Week 1, the waiver wire articles will be out in force, and the buy low windows will have slammed shut. Here are my 9 Dynasty Players To Buy Before It’s Too Late.

In regards to dynasty, the big question is who can make an impact, not just for the short term but, over the next few seasons. Are these players a one-time hit? Or can these players get consistent targets or rushing attempts that they can keep production up long term. This preseason we watched a lot of these players get playing time, but now with the regular season approaching it’s time for the sleeper season to end, and the real work to begin. Below are some of my favorite dynasty players to buy low now before their value gets too high. The window has closed on players such as Mac Jones who now has seen his price increase due to Cam Newton being cut, and in the passing days, more sleepers will be rising up the boards.

Tua Tagovailoa is Miami Dolphins quarterback future despite benchings

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins

The lack of respect Tua has received is insane to me.  The Dolphins are consistently linked in the Desean Watson rumors and every other week it feels like a deal is close.

Here are the facts on Tua: He did not have a full offseason last year with COVID and his injured hip. He didn’t play at 100% last season. Now he has a full offseason under his belt. Tua has looked good this preseason and has newly drafted Jaylen Waddle to help him out.  Buy now!

Zach Wilson – New York Jets

I put Zach Wilson in this column because he has looked very sharp this preseason completing 15 of 20 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. He also did not turn the ball over once. If Wilson can come out throwing hard the first couple of weeks, his price will be soaring. Week 1 against a weaker Carolina defense and Week 2 against a New England defense that just lost their top defender for the first six weeks in Stephon Gilmore, means Wilson has a chance to start strong. A 4,000-yard rookie passing season is not out of the question, and he can be had cheap, for now. This team is likely going to be losing and giving up points, hence Wilson throwing more. He’s also got some decent weapons around him and has a chance to put up some decent fantasy numbers for the foreseeable future.

Jameis Winston – New Orleans Saints

Let’s get out of the AFC East and go to the new quarterback for the Saints, Jameis Winston. Let’s not forget he recently had a 30-touchdown and a 30-interception season. The 30 interceptions are a major concern for people. He had Lasik surgery to correct vision problems and has looked great this preseason. Even with his turnovers, he’s got a QB1 season under his belt from 2019 where he was a top-five quarterback depending on your scoring.

With Tayson Hill lurking, people worry about Winston’s true value. He has connected with Marquez Callaway this preseason for multiple scores and also gets (we hope) Michael Thomas back mid-season. Right now, the price is low on Winston, but with Alvin Kamara in the backfield, Callaway to go with Thomas, I can see Winston turning the ship around real fast.

Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson is an analytics darling after preseason

Running Backs

Rhamondre Stevenson – New England Patriots

With Cam Newton leaving New England, the running backs get a boost with the goal line carries being vacated. Newton had 22 carries inside the five-yard line last season, which are all up for grabs this year.  Damien Harris projects to be the starter, but Stevenson is going to see time after having a very impressive preseason where he finished as the NFL leader in rushing yards with 217 and touchdowns with five. The rookie was extremely impressive and is a great backup option to Harris. If Harris were to miss any playing time this season, Stevenson would immediately jump to the top of every waiver article.

Chris Evans – Cincinnati Bengals

Let’s dive deep on this one. Chris Evans is a 6th round rookie out of Michigan, and he has looked very impressive for the Bengals this preseason. Ideally, he would fill into the Giovani Bernard role in the offense, and be the pass-catching back.  Bernard was a valuable asset to the Bengals, and recently left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason. This preseason, Evans has flashed talent. In the final preseason game, he brought in a great 29-yard pass for a touchdown and has shown in other games why he is rising as a pass-catching back.

Joe Mixon missed time last season with a foot injury. He’s healthy and ready to go this season, but in the event that he may miss time, Evans would receive a huge bump. The Bengals offensive line is really bad and that might be an understatement. Joe Burrow will need to get rid of the ball in seconds, and dump downs to the running backs would fit well.

Larry Rountree – Los Angeles Chargers

Larry Rountree is a pure speculative add right now. The rookie 6th rounder out of Missouri projects as the fourth-string running back for the Chargers. He currently sits behind Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson, and Joshua Kelley. Rountree has flashed in all aspects this summer. He is showing his pass-catching skills, his rushing ability, and special teams ability. He’s shown he can play all over could elevate him on the depth chart, at minimum over Kelley. Ekeler is not a big goal-line running back. Jackson has shown injury concerns in the past, which could give Rountree a chance to vulture some goal line carries. An injury to Ekeler, like last season, would boost Rountree into every waiver wire article.

WR Nico Collins | Sizzle Reel 🔥

Wide Receivers

Nico Collins – Houston Texans

Nico Collins is a personal favorite dynasty sleeper of mine. Brandin Cooks is the only wide receiver in Houston that merits fantasy value, and it seems as if the Texans are in sell mode. Collins, the 3rd round rookie out of Michigan, slides into the starting outside role. Collins is a big receiver standing at 6’4 and presents a big red zone target on top of his physical play. On top of that, the Texans cut Keke Coutee, who he was battling in camp against.

Currently, the Texans are projected to be one of the worst teams in football and could be in line to draft one of the top quarterbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Collins stock could boost immensely in the offseason with the projection of a new quarterback coming in. This preseason Collins has been impressive. He’s been running with the first-team offense. He has a touchdown catch and had a nice catch and run 24-yard catch in their first game.  Grab Collins now if you’re able to.  The breakout is going to come.

Rondale Moore – Arizona Cardinals

Rondale Moore was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Purdue. Moore is a smaller receiver but is a playmaker. Landing in Arizona was one of the best possibilities for him.  He lands on a team with a young star quarterback, and one of the best wide receivers in the game lining up outside.

Currently AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins, and Christian Kirk are the main source of competition. Moore flashed explosiveness in the preseason seeing large target shares and handling jet sweeps. He projects to line up in the slot, and the Cardinals are going to get him the ball. Moore has a ton of speed after running a 4.29 40 yard dash time, and the Cardinals are going to fully showcase that speed this year. Kirk has shown some flashes at times, but the Cardinals really need a WR2 to step up and Moore can absolutely be that guy.

Elijah Moore – New York Jets

I am very excited to see Elijah Moore play with Wilson. He has been the most exciting player in Jets Training Camp this year. He missed the preseason with a quad injury and will make his season debut against the Carolina Panthers. Moore has flashed potential this offseason, building some solid chemistry with rookie Wilson. Right now, his trade value is lower than it was due to the injury, and he’s been sliding in a lot of drafts. Once Moore hits the field, he is going to be on every waiver wire article. Moore dropped all the way to 34 for the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, and they gave serious consideration for him at 23 if they stayed there. That’s how much the Jets love him, and he is going to see a ton of looks this season.
