AJ Brown to the Eagles – Fantasy Football Outlook

We all knew trades were going to happen in the NFL Draft, but a star-wide receiver being traded? We shouldn’t be surprised at all as this has been the way of the wide receiver position. Not only that, but the top wide receivers went off the board fast and furiously with all of the Round 1 action.

The Eagles have been trying all off-season to land a star-wide receiver as they missed out on Calvin Ridley. As Drake London, Garrett Wilson, and Jameson Williams all heard their names prior to the Eagles’ pick, they didn’t waste any time. Not only did A.J. Brown get traded, but he signed a massive four-year contract for $100 million with $57 million guaranteed.

Trade Details

Philadelphia Eagles receive: A.J. Brown

Tennessee Titans receive: No.18 pick (Treylon Burks) and No.101 pick (third-round pick)

Redraft Outlook

The move for A.J. Brown is a lateral move if not an improvement, going from a run-heavy offense to an opportunity where he can be amongst the league leaders in Targets. Jalen Hurts is a sure-fire top-10 quarterback for 2022.

Dynasty Outlook

A four-year contract for the 24-year-old star wide receiver means he should be viewed easily as a WR1 for at least the next four years, if not longer. The one who takes a hit here is DeVonta Smith. Viewed less than 24 hours ago as the WR1 for the Eagles and a WR2 in dynasty has now moved down to a more of a WR3 who I am looking to buy on the cheap. All in all, this offense is going to look a lot better with Brown, Smith, and Dallas Goedert. Looks like the Eagles finally have their receiving group figured out.
