Buy Low, Sell High — Fantasy Football (Week 11)

Buy-Low-Sell-High-Fantasy-Football-Week-11

There are a plethora of fantasy football managers out there who are in bad spots and in need of change ASAP. With the fantasy trade deadline just around the corner, it’s that time to make some last-minute trades. With that, it’s important to buy and sell at the right time, if possible. Continue reading to find three players you need to buy and three you should sell. Let’s get into it.

BUY – Jerome Ford, RB, Cleveland Browns

Over the last two weeks, Jerome Ford is averaging a whopping 21.5 touches per game. With Deshaun Watson out for the season with a shoulder injury, that number is bound to go up. The Browns are already 1st in run plays per game with 34.8. The team is going to have to rely on Ford even more with Watson now out.

Furthermore, from weeks 15-17, Ford has one of the easiest schedules. He faces the Bears (20th against RBs), Texans (22nd), and the Jets (18th). Needless to say, these are matchups in the fantasy playoffs Ford is going to take full advantage of.

SELL – Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Gus Edwards has gone nuclear over the last four weeks, averaging 19.2 PPR points and scoring a touchdown in all four games. As a result, it’s a perfect time to sell high. His touches are getting concerningly low as he’s gone from 15 and 21 touches in Weeks 7 and 8 to five and 12 touches over the last two games. Head Coach John Harbaugh has been public about giving Keaton Mitchell more involved which stunts Edwards’ touches even more.

After the bye week, the schedule gets rough for Edwards. He gets the Rams (12th against RBs), Jaguars (10th), 49ers (5th) and Dolphins (14th). Edwards’ last 4 weeks have been preeminent, however, a fall from grace is imminent.

BUY – Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Zay Flowers has had a very up-and-down rookie season thus far. There have been times when he looks like a top 10 dynasty wide receiver and times when he goes completely invisible. However, one thing has stayed consistent though. His volume. He’s had 6 or more targets in 5 of the last 6 games and averaged 6.5 targets in that span. With him becoming more and more polished as the games go by, expect those targets to produce sufficient points soon enough.

Furthermore, with his schedule in the fantasy playoffs, the rookie is going to be a league winner. He has the pleasure of facing 3 bottom 15 defenses (49ers, Dolphins, and Jaguars) against fantasy wide receivers in his final three games. Don’t get it twisted, those are good teams and the games are going to be competitive. Which should mean more passing and even more targets coming Flowers’ way.

SELL – Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans

CJ Stroud and the Texans offense have taken off and put the league on notice. With Tank Dell, Dalton Schultz, and Noah Brown finding major success with Stroud, it makes me question Nico Collins’ usage. As talented as Stroud is, it’s unrealistic to see him support four relevant fantasy options.

Collins’ usage has been trending downwards as well. In the first 4 games, he was being force-fed, averaging 8 targets per game. Over the last 4, he’s only averaged 5.2. This is despite the Texans offense getting even better and every other receiver has been trending upwards. Nico Collins, the WR1 to start the season, is the odd man out.

BUY – Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

The price seems to be low for Isiah Pacheco currently. He’s coming off of back-to-back underwhelming performances, scoring only 6.6 and 6.7 PPR points. That’s going to change soon though. His usage has been strong as he saw almost 70% of snaps, and 76% of rushing attempts and ran 51% of the routes in this past game. If this usage continues with his upcoming schedule, he’s going to do wonders for fantasy football managers who buy low on him.

After the looming Eagles game, Pacheco will go up against four bottom 10 defenses against running backs in the final 7 weeks. With how explosive the Chiefs offense is, he is going to feast. The usage is there, the talent is there and the favorable matchups are there. Pacheco is going to EXPLODE in the second half of the season.

SELL – Kenneth Walker, RB, Seattle Seahawks

It’s no secret Kenneth Walker has been outsnapped by rookie Zach Charbonnet in the last three weeks. That didn’t stop Walker from producing last game which should mean he’ll still hold some trade value. With this, fantasy managers must take advantage of this before their value diminishes.

Furthermore, Walker has become incredibly inefficient as he’s had 4 or fewer yards per carry in 4 of the last 5 games. He also ranks 27th in yards after contact. These inadequate numbers have led to his touches going down from 20.3 per game in the first seven weeks to just 13 in the last three.

Finally, Walker has a rocky road ahead of him in the next five games. He faces the Rams (12th against running backs), 49ers (5th), Cowboys (9th), 49ers (5th) and Eagles (1st). Walker’s fantasy managers have been content with his performances thus far, but it’s time to move on.
