DFS Cash Game Picks – NFL Week 13

DFS-Cash-Game-Picks-NFL-Week-13

Welcome back to another edition of DFS Cash Game Picks. In this series, we target some expensive players who are worth paying for. Additionally, we have some value plays as well. We’ll be breaking down the best DFS picks you should be targeting in Week 13 of the 2023 NFL season

Last week’s picks were probably the most disappointing of the entire season. Some players were in great spots and they flopped mightily. Let’s hope for some better results this week in a slate where six teams are on a bye. Check out a quick recap of last week below followed by my studs and values for Week 13.

Teams on Bye: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants

Week 12 Recap

Smash

Kyler Murray had a good game but quarterbacks lit it up this week as Murray was the QB7 despite scoring 20.44 fantasy points

Najee Harris had his best rushing performance of the season finishing the game with 15.9 fantasy points.

Trey McBride was the TE4 scoring 13.00 fantasy points in a weird week that saw only four tight ends catch touchdowns.

Duds

Adam Thielen had by far his worst game of the season finishing with a poor 1.2 fantasy points after only having one catch for two yards.

D’Andre Swift had a great second half but for some reason, the Philadelphia Eagles just didn’t use him much in the first half. Swift ended the game with 80 rushing yards but that was about it finishing with 9.40 fantasy points.

Josh Downs had a mediocre game scoring only 9.30 points despite seeing a season-high 13 targets and being tackled one yard short of the end zone. Downs was very disappointing because he could have had a monster performance with those targets.

Week 13 DFS Cash Game Picks

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa ($7,900)

This game could easily be the biggest blowout on the slate. The Washington Commanders’ pass defense is brutal, as they have allowed the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Furthermore, the Miami Dolphins can light up the scoreboard with their speed on offense. More importantly, Tua is playing the best football of his career. He is an MVP candidate having thrown a touchdown in every game this season, totaling 22 so far on the season. The Dolphins team total for this game is currently set at 29.5 and Tua will be a big part of that racking up the fantasy points.

Russell Wilson ($5,700)

The former Super Bowl champion has looked like a completely different quarterback this season under Sean Payton. Wilson has thrown at least one touchdown in every game this year. Furthermore, he has thrown a total of 20 touchdowns this season compared to just 16 the entire season last year. Moreover, he has not thrown an interception in five straight games. This week he will face the Houston Texans who have allowed the sixth most passing yards this season. More importantly, they have allowed the fifth most fantasy points to quarterbacks in the last five weeks. Look for Russ to keep the offense rolling as the Denver Broncos look to continue their winning streak.

Running Backs

Austin Ekeler ($8,300)

This is a great bounce-back spot for Ekeler after two straight weeks of no touchdowns and averaging only 9.2 fantasy points. With the Los Angeles Chargers being six-point favorites, Ekeler should see a good chunk of work on the ground. Furthermore, the New England Patriots are tied for tenth worst in the league in touchdowns allowed to running backs. The Patriots are in full tank mode at this point and that could be just what the Chargers/Ekeler need to get the offense rolling.

Najee Harris ($5,200)

Harris has been a good value pick through much of the season. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in five of his last six games this season. Furthermore, he just finished one yard shy of his first 100-yard rushing game of the season. Now he will face an Arizona Cardinals defense that just got gashed by Kyren Williams and Royce Freeman. All signs point to Harris having another good game and with his salary still in the 5K range, he’s a great value.

Wide Receivers

Jaylen Waddle ($7,600)

Waddle is coming off one of his best games of the season with a season-high eight receptions. This week, he gets his best matchup of the season against a brutal Commanders secondary. The Commanders allow the most receiving yards per game to wide receivers as well as the seventh most receiving yards to receivers in the slot. With, Waddle playing in the slot 20% of the time so far this season and a 22.3% target share when he does he’s due for a monster game.

Courtland Sutton ($5,400)

Wilson to Sutton has been a good value stack for most of the season thus far. Sutton has been the go-to guy for Wilson in the endzone. The duo has connected for eight touchdowns, including a five-game stretch with a touchdown in each game that ended last week. The Texans have been stingy against wide receivers scoring touchdowns this season having only allowed six on the season. However, four of those have come in the last three games. Play the Broncos stack with confidence heading into a massive game that will have huge playoff implications.

Tight Ends

Taysom Hill ($5,200)
The New Orleans Saints could be down three of their top weapons for Sunday’s game. Hill will need to be a big part of their offense whether it is through the air or on the ground. He has seen at least nine or more targets/carries in four of his last five games. I expect that number to be closer to 12-14 this week. Hill has the potential to break any slate because of his Swiss Army knife capabilities. Look for Hill to pass, run, and catch his way into one of the top-scoring tight ends this week.

Juwan Johnson ($3,400)

Similarly to Hill with the weapons being hurt Johnson could be forced into a much bigger role. Overall on the season, Johnson who has been banged up has been very disappointing. Johnson was able to score 11 touchdowns the previous two seasons combined and so far this season, he only has one. However, he is coming off a season-high 45 receiving yards, as well as a season-high seven targets. Johnson is due for a season breakout performance and this could be the week he puts it all together.

Defense / Special Teams

Atlanta Falcons ($3,400)

Somehow, the Falcons, despite a losing record, are sitting in first place in the NFC South. They had a tremendous defensive performance last week led by a Jessie Bates pick-six. This week, they will face Tim Boyle who statistically is one of the worst quarterbacks in football history. This game will likely be a low-scoring defensive battle. If the Falcons can keep Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall contained, there’s no reason they can’t easily score double-digit fantasy points. You can play the Falcons defense with confidence this week.
