Don’t Give Up on Malik Willis in Dynasty Football

I may be on an island here, but I still believe in Malik Willis in fantasy football and dynasty fantasy football leagues. Personally, I believe in Willis as a starting quarterback in the NFL. While that may be a spicy take, I am prepared to die on that hill. However, Willis still has much-untapped potential and needs a solid team to help him develop his talents.

2022 Offensive Stats

Last season the Titans ranked around mid-tier in rushing stats compared to the rest of the NFL, which is solid. However, their passing attempts were only 456, which put them third from last place in the league. Furthermore, the entire team’s passing yards were 3,227, which ranked them fourth to last. But, of course, most of that is on Ryan Tannehill since he played in 12 games last season as the starter.

It’s no secret, the Tennessee Titans love to run the ball and play defense. The good ole Rex Ryan Jets, ground and pound football, to say it the best. Willis’s issue is not his own. He was drafted on the wrong team and will need a fresh start with an offensive-minded west coast style that would play into his strengths. While Willis may have struggled in his limited opportunities last year, this certainly isn’t entirely on him. There is no doubt, he would greatly benefit from a change of scenery and a fresh start in an offensive more tailored to his strengths.

Dynasty Outlook

In his final seasons combined with Liberty, Willis threw for 5,107 yards and tossed 47 touchdowns with only 18 interceptions. Oh, I forgot to mention he can run the ball as well. Willis rushed for 1,822 yards and crossed the goal line for an additional 27 touchdowns. All that being said, he is dynamic as a player. Now, he just needs the right team, coach, and a good offense to be explosive.

Right now, in dynasty leagues, many people are hopping off this train. However, I believe this is the time to grab him for cheap if you still believe in Willis as I do. His current dynasty ranking is QB42 overall according to FantasyPros. Putting him right around Sam Darnold, Kyle Trask, and above Carson Wentz.

Furthermore, Willis is currently ranked the QB48 according to KeepTradeCut. Needless to say, that value screams free for the taking. Overall, if you require quarterback depth in your dynasty fantasy football leagues, go and grab Willis now and thank me later.
