With his size, deceptive agility, and a willingness to learn and improve, Cade Otton checks all the boxes for a tight end prospect that can and will achieve success in the NFL. The University of Washington has turned out a bevy of tight ends who have made an impact at the pro level such as Will Dissly and Drew Sample. To me, Otton outshines them all.

Otton was a solid producer in each of his four collegiate seasons with his senior year nerfed by an ankle injury that required surgery. I have no worries about his future health status and his positive demeanor is wonderful. He hauled in 91 receptions, averaging 11.3 yards per catch with a catch rate of over 73%, and scored nine times.

In looking into this young tight end’s future, I’m not predicting he will become the next Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews, but he’s got the ability and drive to have a long career in the pros. Multiple seasons of 70-800-10 seem lofty, but Otton could easily pull down 50 catches for 600 yards year after year, once he finds his footing. He will very likely be a second or third-round selection in April.

For dynasty purposes, he’s a guy you should spend a third or fourth-round rookie pick on and watch him marinate into a reliable contributor to your roster. In redraft, it’s better to wait a couple of seasons. Either way, his draft destination will be a huge factor in his value.
