Dameon Pierce’s college stats leave him a bit of a down view in the analytics-based community. The ineffectiveness of the Florida offense and program as a whole is apparent when reviewing his film. Pierce has good vision but lacks additional moves besides his initial cuts. He’s not creative enough to avoid tackles in open spaces either. He has solid instincts and lower body footwork to continue to churn his legs through initial contact.  Pierce is very much a bowling ball at his height and weight combination and runs with that kind of physicality.

As far as speed goes, Pierce does not possess a second gear to break away if an opening occurs. He’s a tough runner but a majority of his game does come with the idea he is a 2-down running back. Pierce has been moving up boards ever since his great showing at the Senior Bowl. He’s also physical at the point of attack and one of the strongest backs in Mobile and he did a great job elevating his profile. He caught 45 receptions during his career as well, showing that he shouldn’t be viewed as a strictly one-dimensional running back. His pass-blocking skills are highly regarded as well. There are questions about his workload that will need to be addressed, as he never played more than 23 snaps in a game at Florida. This leads me to believe that it will be no surprise for Pierce to be gone no later than the end of the 3rd round in the NFL Draft.
