Breece Hall – Iowa State

6’1″ 220 pounds

The Junior had 253 carries for 1472 yards and 20 touchdowns this year. He added 36 receptions for 302 yards and an additional two touchdowns. Hall is going to be at the top of the list when it comes to most dynasty rankings, but for good reason. He has displayed the qualities it takes to be a high-level NFL running back. Hall is a physical runner that can break tackles with ease, and shows good patience to follow blocks as running lanes are created. Not only does he possess great strength he has the speed needed to break off large runs. What pushes him to my top running back is his soft hands and the ability to make plays in the passing game.

Isaiah Spiller – Texas A&M

6’1″ 215 pounds

The Texas A&M product has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons while averaging 5.6 YPC. He has also added 20 or more receptions each year. He has shown the ability to be a true workhorse back and the coveted three-down role. Seeing some of his game films makes it clear why he is considered at the top of dynasty rankings for this draft class. Spiller has shown the ability to find running lanes and can use his shiftiness to make defenders miss. While he will need to work on his pass protection and overall speed, Spiller still profiles to be a good NFL running back.

Kenneth Walker – Michigan State

5’10” 210 pounds

After transferring to Michigan State for his Junior year, Kenneth Walker put up some big numbers on his way to the Doak Walker Award as the Nation’s top running back. Walker took 263 carries for 1636 yards and 18 touchdowns. Walker is another physical runner that excels in yards after contact. He led the FBS in yards after contact with 1,154. He has shown good vision and has good awareness in finding cutback lanes with enough speed and elusiveness to make defenders miss. He has not been active in the passing game, which has kept him from being ranked higher.

Rachaad White – Arizona State

6’2″ 210 pounds

Rachaad White is a running back who I have seen all over the ranking boards, but one who I really like as my number four back. In his Junior season, he posted 420 yards on only 42 carries and added eight catches for 151 yards. In his Senior season, he really blossomed posting 1,006 yards on 182 carries with 15 touchdowns. What gets me excited is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield as he posted 43 receptions for 456 yards. White has exceptional burst and gets to the next level very quickly with effortless moves keeping him on balance while not losing his game-breaking speed.

Kyren Williams – Notre Dame

5’9″ 199 pounds

The Notre Dame product is a proven commodity against tough competition during his college career. He is a complete back who has put up great numbers in his two years of starting. During that time span, he has logged 415 carries for 2,127 yards and 27 touchdowns. While not to be forgotten is his receiving ability, where he posted 77 receptions for 672 yards and four touchdowns. While being a little undersized, Williams still is one of the more complete backs in this class and has shown great vision as a runner, while being versatile and able to line up and be productive as a receiver.

As the NFL Draft approaches, we will continue to monitor each prospect and adjust our rankings. The five running backs above are my top targets, but I will give you a few more names that you should keep an eye on as the NFL Combine and Pro Days are still to come.
