Dynasty Rookie Profile: Treylon Burks

Coming in at 6’3 and 225 pounds, Arkansas native Treylon Burks is a physical specimen who enters the 2022 NFL Draft after a standout career for the Razorbacks. During his final season at Arkansas, Burks hauled in 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns. Burks is a big, physical receiver that has breakaway speed. Even competing against other NFL prospects in the SEC, Burks was able to outrun defenders and when his 40-time is recorded he will shoot up NFL Draft boards. His large frame and combination of speed give him a monster ceiling in the NFL.

One thing you will quickly notice on Burks is his ability to produce yards after the catch as evidenced by his 9.3 yards average after the catch per reception. Burks uses a variety of ways to produce with the ball in his hands and is able to use his strength to stiff-arm defenders while staying on balance and use his speed to break away and outrun defenders’ angles. Another trait that sticks out is his contested catchability. The height, vertical, and massive hands make for a big catch radius and are a huge reason for his success in his contested catch rate. Burks is a very versatile receiver consistently winning matchups lining up on the outside, the slot, and even out of the backfield. Don’t be surprised to see Burks at the top of your dynasty rookie drafts, even as the 1.01 at times.
