FanDuel GPP Picks – Week 6

FanDuel-GPP-Picks-Week-6

First off I’d like to thank the Faceoff Sports Network for giving me the opportunity to contribute to their DFS content. Here’s where I show my age. I’ve played fantasy sports since the stats were pulled from actual newspapers. I’m that old. There was no internet back then so we really had no choice. I’ve played daily fantasy sports since 2014. I hope to contribute weekly with a writeup focused on FanDuel GPP contests for the Sunday main slate and welcome any feedback you may have.

As we prepare for Week 6 we face our first bye weeks for teams. The following teams are on a bye this week:  Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Minnesota, and Tennessee. Let’s jump into a position-by-position analysis and see if we can’t compile a player pool to take something down.

GPP Quarterbacks

Tom Brady – $7,500

Brady playing this Steelers defense may be just what he needs to get back to typical Brady football. The last two weeks have been better for Brady as he’s averaged over 350 yards and two touchdowns. Over his career, he has played the Mike Tomlin-led Steelers six times with the lowest FanDuel points total of 14.16 points and an average of 22.58 points. I definitely don’t see this so-called defense holding Brady to anything close to his low score but instead I could see him approaching 25 fantasy points and at a price tag of $7,500 I’m willing to make him a part of my player pool.

Kyler Murray – $8,300

Murray faces a Seattle defense that gives up either 325+ passing yards (DEN & DET)  or 175 rushing yards (SF, ATL, and NO) each week. I’m betting that this week it will be the former, especially with Arizona being without James Conner.

GPP Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey – $8,700

Matt Ruhle has been fired and Baker Mayfield looks like he’ll miss this game after suffering what appears to be a high ankle sprain. If Mayfield misses the game P.J. Walker should start which could lead to more receptions and an increased number of carries for McCaffrey. The possible downside could be that Walker vultures a touchdown, but I’ll be hoping for the best with McCaffrey in GPP tournaments.

Alvin Kamara – $8,100

I think this is the week Taysom Hill gives way to Kamara as far as touchdowns are concerned. Kamara’s usage last week was solid and only lacked a touchdown to put him where we needed for a GPP score. With rookie Chris Olave playing and Winston possibly being back, that’s a benefit to Kamara as far as I’m concerned.

Breece Hall – $7,100

Hall’s rushing attempts have increased each week and he’s averaging almost six targets per game. He did have a couple of touchdowns vultured by Michael Carter but I think he will be a significant part of the offense regardless of the game script. His price also helps a bit if you’re trying to pay up elsewhere.

GPP Wide Receivers

Cooper Kupp – $9,400

Kupp’s price is a hefty tag to pay but he’s also scored at least 14 points each week this year. If you can pay up this is not a bad option at all. I would not get cute and try to play both Henderson or Kuup in the same lineup as I don’t see that game getting the points needed to support both players for a GPP. lineup.

Christian Kirk – $7,000

Kirk is a favorite of Trevor Lawrence and gets almost eight targets per game and has seen eight red zone targets this year. That, coupled with facing the Colts secondary puts him in my pool for GPP options. His price doesn’t hurt his case either.

Rondale Moore – $5,600

With A.J. Green back, Moore should run most of his routes from the slot, which is exactly where Seattle has a difficult time defending. This game should be a back-and-forth between the two teams which bodes well for Moore. My projection is that Moore ends up somewhere between 15-18 points. If I’m making a Kyler Murray stack, Moore will definitely be in a few of those GPP lineups.

GPP Tight Ends

Travis Kelce – $8,300

Kelce is the only tight end that I would even look at at this price. The game has great vegas data and Kelce is rarely eliminated from a game plan. I wouldn’t even be against starting two tight ends this week if the other is Ertz.

Zach Ertz – $6,000

Ertz’ ownership is coming far too low for a tight end who is getting over 8 targets per game, 11 red zone targets on the season, and in a game that his team is projected to be in a shootout scoring almost four touchdowns. Ertz will be in my Murray stacks and in some I’ll include Rondale Moore or Eno Benjamin too.

GPP Defense/Special Teams

New England Patriots – $4,200

If you’ve been playing DFS for any length of time you know that the Defense/Special Teams position is hit or miss. I personally prefer to spend down here to save my money to spend elsewhere. If looking for some correlation Rhamondre Stevenson could be stacked with the Patriots defense.

GPP Stacks

Here are a couple of stacks I’ll be looking at for Sunday in large-field GPP tournaments. Watch ownership and remember if you’re using a stack that is highly owned you need to differentiate yourself elsewhere in your lineup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

I used him last and I’m going back this week. I’m waiting for that Brady-esque game of 300+/4, so I’ll be stacking Tom Brady and Chris Godwin with a runback of George Pickens. Using this stack leaves you with $39,900 left or an average of $6,650 per player.

Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks

I know everyone is focused on the Bills/Chiefs game. I personally think that this game could be just as fruitful and with decent savings so I’ll be stacking Kylar Murray with multiple combinations of Eno Benjamin, Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore, and Zach Ertz. A run back of D.K. Metcalf. You could also use Lockett but I prefer Metcalf this week.

As always please watch the injury reports leading up to each kickoff. Best of luck! Be sure to follow me on Twitter @BigEZDFS for possible changes or added picks.
