FanDuel GPP Picks – Week 7

FanDuel-GPP-Picks-Week-7

As we prepare for Week 7, here are some of my favorite targets to look to in your FanDuel GPP contests. Let’s jump into a position-by-position analysis and see if we can’t compile a player pool to take something down.

Quarterbacks

Joe Burrow – $8,300

Burrow has been one of the more consistent fantasy quarterbacks this year with a consistency score of 9.62 which ranks 5th among quarterbacks. In addition to being consistent, he also has a ceiling of over 30 fantasy points. This week he faces Atlanta and though the Bengals are favored by 6.5 points I think the game will remain close enough that he will be passing throughout the game.

Tom Brady – $7,400

I’m going back to the well and while it may not be exciting I still think he’s long overdue for a get-right game. Remember that these picks are for large field tournaments so we need to be a bit different. Now, if being different means playing arguably the best quarterback ever who is playing a subpar team and at a slight discount you can count me in. Let’s hope for better results than Week 6.

Running Backs

Nick Chubb – $8,900

Last week Chubb got just over half of his previous low score on the year, a poultry 7.5 fantasy points. This week he’s facing the Baltimore Ravens who will definitely not be confused with the Ravens defense that had Ray Lewis and Ed Reed etc. I look for Chubb to bounce back and carry the offense and us to a winning day. He’s also only projected to be approximately 5-7% owned.

Breece Hall – $7,600

Every time I pick a New York Jet I feel like a complete homer but this guy looks like the real deal. Hall seems to be gamescript-proof and has the ability to score from anywhere on the field. Denver allows 4.4 YPC and though the Jets are underdogs I think Hall will be involved enough to help us again this week. His opponent this week, Denver, also allowed Josh Jacobs to rack up 175 yards and 2 touchdowns just over two weeks ago..

Travis Etienne – $6,800

We’ve seen Etienne become increasingly more involved in the offense as the seasons progressed. This week he faces a Giants defense that’s allowing an average of 140 yards rushing per week. Etienne is also getting a couple of catches and 20+ receiving yards on average which increases his floor a little bit. The game should be close and I expect Etienne to get his share of the touches and hopefully find the end zone.

Wide Receivers

Ja’Maar Chase – $8,500

Over the last four weeks, Chase has been targeted 38 times, he also has 13 red zone targets on the year tied with Davante Adams for the lead among wide receivers. As I said I think this game remains close and I’m hoping the over hits, which would bode well for the Bengals offense.

Deebo Samuel – $7,700

The 49ers are facing the Kansas City Chiefs this week whose defense is rather generous. I see this playing out with SF throwing early and often. If that should be the case, Samuel will be involved there as well as in the run game to keep the Chiefs on their toes. I wouldn’t even mind a Jimmy G/Deebo or Aiyuk stack but let’s see if they make are stack section in a bit.

Devin Duvernay – $5,900

I feel compelled to add in a value play since the other two receivers are rather pricey. In addition to that Mark Andrews is currently listed as questionable and has missed practices on both Wednesday and Thursday which is not a good sign. It’s widely known that Andrews is Lamar’s favorite target and if he’s out that volume needs to shift somewhere. Duvernay also gets looks in the red zone which will only be helped should Andrews be ruled out.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce – $8,300

It doesn’t take a genius to put Kelce in a lineup, hell I’m not sure it takes a brain. He and Mahomes have such great chemistry that you can almost lock this in every week so long as you have the salary. I don’t think this week will be any different and for that reason I’ll have him in my player pool for sure.

Dalton Schultz – $4,800

In week one Schultz received 9 targets of the 29 passes thrown by Dak Prescott who happens to be returning this week. Prescott returning and probably needing to shake off some rust is a good thing for Schultz. I love the price too, I mean at $4,800 we would only need about 4/60/1 to get a solid GPP score out of him which is definitely achievable against a Detroit defense that allows an average of 14+ fantasy points to tight ends per game.

Defense/Special Teams

Cincinnati Bengals – $3,600

This pick is more due to the fact that Marcus Mariotta has 11 turnovers on the year thus far which is almost 2 per game. The Bengals defense also has 5 interceptions and 3 fumbles recovered so at only $600 above the minimum salary I’ll take a shot here.

GPP Stacks

Since our focus is on GPP contests, I’m going to go with two low-owned stacks on FanDuel this week.

Kansas City Chiefs @ San Francisco 49ers

Unlike most, I’ll be targeting the 49ers side of this game stacking Jimmy Garoppolo with either or both of Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. I’ll run that back with Travis Kelce. The 49ers stack will cost $21,200 leaving an average of $6,100 for the remaining players. If we run that back with Kelce the stack will cost $29,500 so we’ll certainly need to add a value play or two as we fill out a lineup.

Houston Texans @ Las Vegas Raiders

In this game, I’ll be going with you know who, yup the powerful and mighty offense of the Houston Texans. It doesn’t get any different than this. Let’s stack the future HOF quarterback Davis Mills with one or both of Brandon Cooks and Nico Collins. My hope is that the Raiders come in looking for the rookie running back Dameon Pierce but the Texans go to the air. This stack if using all three comes in at a total cost of $18,200 which leaves $6,967 for each of the remaining players. If we run this back with Davante Adams that drops slightly to $6,640.

As always, be sure to watch the injury reports leading up to each kickoff. Best of luck! Be sure to follow me on Twitter @BigEZDFS for possible changes, added picks, or additional DFS content.
