Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups – Week 7 (2024)

In this article, we’ll highlight top waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of the 2024 fantasy baseball season. These will be players who may be flying under the radar but have the potential to make significant contributions to your roster. Whether you’re looking to address injuries, optimize your lineup, or stay competitive, join us as we uncover hidden gems and strategic pickups for the upcoming week in fantasy baseball.

Last week, we identified five players to pick up who meet our waiver wire criteria. Dean Kremer was one of those players in the Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups Week 6 article. Young had 27% roster ownership and is now up to 41%. Kremer has had 16k’s and a 0.85 WHIP in the last seven days. His K/9 is an elite 12.3. While the other guys on the list didn’t perform at their best in the last seven days, there is still plenty of time for them.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups – Week 7

As we move through the season our main goal is to identify players that don’t have a high percentage of ownership, particularly on FantasyPros. We will ensure that no player is rostered more than 40% in leagues to ensure that most of the guys listed are available. Additionally, we will make sure to have at least two players listed that are owned in 20% or less for deeper leagues. Let’s dig into the top waiver wire pickups for Week 7 of the fantasy baseball season.

Best Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds For 12 Team Leagues

Stay with us as we identify players to target weekly for your roster to help you win a fantasy baseball championship. I’m not certain if we’ll see someone make a jump that big this week. If someone does, we will do our best to identify them for you. Here are the top waiver wire pickups for this week.

Tommy Pham (Outfield – Chicago White Sox): 6%

Pham has been a pretty solid player, especially over the last two weeks. Word on the street is he hasn’t had any disputes over fantasy football with his teammates, which is a good sign. In the last two weeks, he is hitting .300 in 50 ABs. He has hit all 5 categories for ROTO and is worth looking at. He got a late start to the season due to being signed late, but here are some of his numbers for fantasy in the last two weeks. 2 HRs/8 RBIs/.293 BA, .339 OBP/.686 OPS/1SB. All in all, he is a quality player worth rostering in deeper formats. This week, I like Pham as my first and top priority for fantasy baseball leagues.

Abraham Toro (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Base – Oakland Athletics): 24%

Toro has been seeing every day playing time with the Athletics, who have been surprisingly scrappy this season. So far, he has had 137 ABs this year. In those ABs, he has a .297 AVG/ .460 SLG/.811 OPS. Additionally, he has scored 20 runs on the year and knocked in 17 batters. He will also offer roster flexibility in your lineup, being able to play all over the diamond. Ultimately, I like Toro as my second priority this week off the waiver wire.

Johan Rojas (Outfield – Philadelphia Phillies): 4%

This addition is specifically for speed. He hasn’t been able to provide much with his bat with a .236 BA/ .336 SLG/.618 OPS. Rojas has 9 total steals in the year, which places him tied for 12th in the MLB for steals. He had a rough start to the season. However, his betting has improved, which provides hope that he can provide more for other categories.

In the last 30 days, Rojas has improved to .266 AVG/.392 SLG/ .697 OPS. While these numbers aren’t setting the world on fire, there is hope that he can improve as a young player. I like Rojas as my next priority this week. Especially if you need the speed.

Cooper Criswell (Pitcher – Boston Red Sox): 8%

Criswell has had a good start to the season. He holds a 2.10 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in 6 total games this year. In his last outing against Washington, he had 9 total strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. Needless to say, he is playing really good ball this season, and I expect it to continue.

Furthermore, Criswell has been managing the game well this year, and his low ownership should make him available in many leagues. I like Criswell for my fourth waiver wire pickup for Week 7.

Cole Irvin (Pitcher – Baltimore Orioles): 27%

Irvin is not a high strikeout pitcher, but in his seven starts, he has secured seven QS and four wins. His ERA is 2.90, and his WHIP is 1.07. His BB% is a low 5.00%, the third-best of his career. Playing behind a good defense, he is worth adding if you need help in every category outside of Ks. I like Irvin for my final priority waiver wire pickup of the week.
