Fantasy Football Outlook – Christian Watson to the Packers
The most athletic receiver in the draft ending up with the Packers? This should be fun. While the pre-draft ADP on Christian Watson may be lower, expect a sharp uptick in value as we get closer to rookie drafts that happen in mid-May.
He’s been going off the board as the 14th overall player and WR9 overall in our pre-draft ADP.
Pick: Round 2, Pick 33 Overall
Redraft Outlook
Rookie wide receivers tend to need to be brought along and this should be no different for Watson. While the appeal of vacated targets by Davante Adams is nice, the truth is that his role this year will probably look a lot closer to the role left by Marques Valdez-Scantling.
Early projections for the year have him at around 50 receptions and 700 yards for the season. His value for the year is more of a late-round flier. With him struggling with drops during his college career, he will be a Flex option or WR3 in most leagues.
Dynasty Outlook
The draft capital the Packers gave up for Watson was the equivalent of the 27th pick in Round 1. Green Bay clearly has a value for him and will likely try to make him the WR1 in Green Bay. You can’t ask for much of a better landing spot than with Rodgers.
Watson’s ADP could move into the late first-round of rookie drafts and should go off the board somewhere between the WR5 and WR8.
