Fantasy Football – WR Start Of The Week
Courtland Sutton vs. LAC
The rule for my start of the week is to go beyond the obvious and pick a wide receiver outside the top 24 FantasyPros consensus rankings. Going up against the Los Angeles Chargers, Courtland Sutton is my start of the week.
For my championship start of the week, I have Courtland Sutton, who is being discounted because of a concussion. Now, this type of injury is tricky, but if he can pass the protocol in time, Sutton is easily a top-24 guy. Although the protocol in 2023 has been much more complicated, because Sutton was taken out of the game so early, it makes me think that the Broncos are trying to save him for next week.
Russell Wilson and his legacy with the Broncos is on the line during these last two games. The only receiver Wilson has truly trusted in 2023 is Sutton, and I expect that trend to continue. Over the past three games, Sutton is averaging 14.3 PPG, easily WR2 numbers. If Sutton is healthy, I don’t see any reason he’ll slow down.
Sutton also has a very favorable matchup, as the Chargers have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to receivers this year (39.37 PPG). If you need a flex play, Sutton could be crucial for many fantasy owners. Remember, please carefully check the injury report with Sutton, as your fantasy championship is on the line.
