2024 Fantasy Football Recap – Top 10 QB Performances
In this fantasy football recap of the 2024 season, we take a look back at the year’s most memorable performances and highlight the players who helped win league championships. Hopefully, you hoisted your trophy. However, even if you came up short, these standout moments made the fantasy season unforgettable.
It was a bit of a surprise to see the QB1 overall this season Lamar Jackson only has one of the top 10 finishes on this list. Overall, the top three fantasy quarterbacks for 2024, Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow did have five out of the top 10 finishes for the 2024 fantasy football season.

In this article, I’ll take a look at the top 10 fantasy quarterback performances from the 2024 NFL season.
Disclaimer – All the data is from FantasyPros and 1/2 PPR scoring is used. Let’s get right into the top 10 QB performances from 2024.
10. Week 10 – Joe Burrow at Baltimore Ravens (33.7 pts)
First up is Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. This game was on Thursday Night Football and Burrow threw for 428 and four touchdowns. Five touchdowns were scored by both teams in the 4th quarter with the score going back and forth between the two teams.
Impressively, Burrow threw a touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase (who had 49.9 points himself) with 0.38 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Instead of kicking a game-tying extra point, the Bengals unsuccessfully went for a two-point conversion and lost the game 35-34. Considering the Bengals missed the playoffs by one win, looking back, this game ended up having a massive impact on the fate of the Bengals 2024 regular season.
9. Week 7 – Lamar Jackson at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (34.4 pts)
Next up is none other than Lamar Jackson. This Week 7 game was on Monday Night Football. Jackson did rush for 52 yards in this contest but it was his passing ability that was most impressive in this game. In total, he threw for 281 yards and five touchdowns.
Derrick Henry also chipped in with 182 total yards and one touchdown. The Buccaneers made the score respectable by adding 21 points in the 4th quarter. However, a Ravens victory was never in doubt as the final score was 41-31 for Baltimore.
8. Week 11 – Jared Goff vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (34.6 pts)
The poor Jaguars. They never had a chance in this game as the Lions obliterated them 52-6. All in all, Goff threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns.
In fact, this game was a fantasy bonanza for all the Lions’ main offensive players. Running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs finished as the RB4 and RB6 for the week. Additionally, wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams were the WR1 and WR6 respectively. Even kicker Jake Bates was tied for the third-highest points. And to cap it off, the Lions’ defense finished fourth overall.
7. Week 8 – Jalen Hurts vs. Cincinnati Bengals (35.1 pts)
In Week 8, Hurts didn’t have a great passing game as he only threw for 236 yards and one touchdown. However, you didn’t draft Hurts this past year for his passing, did you? Notably, he had 10 carries for 37 and a whopping three rushing touchdowns. Two of the three touchdowns were the infamous 1-yard “tush pushes.”
Although Saquon Barkley did rush for 108 yards, this was the week that his managers were afraid of – afraid of Hurts stealing the goal line carries.
6. Week 5 – Kirk Cousins vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (35.4 pts)
Up until Week 5, the $180 million free-agent signing by the Falcons was struggling mightily. Thank goodness for the Buccaneers and their horrible secondary that made even Cousins look good. In total, Cousins threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns.
Unfortunately, this was Cousins’ best fantasy performance of the season, and was ultimately benched in Week 16 for 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix. The major question in the offseason for the Falcons is whether they will release or trade Cousins after Penix’s performance from Week 16-18.
5. Week 13 – Jameis Winston at Denver Broncos (36 pts)
Winston took over as the Cleveland Browns quarterback in Week 8. This was after DeShaun Watson suffered a torn Achilles the week before. Winston automatically revived the Browns’ offense. Notably, making Jerry Jeudy a WR1 for a good stretch of the season until he was benched from Week 16.
This game was on Monday Night Football and truly showed the good and the bad with Winston. He threw for just under 500 yards and four touchdowns which is the “Good Jameis.” However, he also demonstrated the “Bad Jameis” when he threw for three interceptions, with two of them being returned for touchdowns by the Broncos.
4. Week 16 – Jayden Daniels vs. Philadelphia Eagles (36.4 pts)
4. Week 18 – Bryce Young at Atlanta Falcons (36.4 pts)
This week’s top quarterback performances were from the probable offensive rookie of the year Jayden Daniels and the former number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft Bryce Young.
Daniels’ 36.4 points against the Eagles were during the fantasy football semi-finals. In one league, I was hesitant to start Daniels because the Commanders had played the Eagles in Week 11 and Daniels had one of his worst performances of the year, only scoring 14.4 points. Silly me. Daniels ended up throwing for 258 yards and five touchdowns to go along with 81 rushing yards. No, I did not bench Daniels.
Meanwhile, Young’s 36.4 points came in Week 18 against an Atlanta Falcons team that still had playoff aspirations. Young threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 24 yards on the ground to go along with two rushing touchdowns.
Daniels will probably win the Offensive Rookie of the Year and be a cornerstone for the Commanders franchise for the next decade. The real question is, will Young’s second-half resurgence continue into 2025, or will the Panthers be looking again for their quarterback of the future?
3. Week 17 – Joe Burrow vs. Denver Broncos (37 pts)
Burrow saved his best performance for the fantasy football championship. If you were fortunate enough to make it to your championship game in Week 17, Burrow may have helped you to win your league’s title. Impressively, he threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns and also added 25 yards on the ground and one rushing touchdown.
Burrow had a phenomenal season in 2024 as he finished as the QB3. As a quarterback who mainly relies on his arm, will he be able to replicate this performance next year? Or will the top-end fantasy quarterbacks be occupied by the dual-threat ones?
2. Week 15 – Josh Allen at Detroit Lions (41.3 pts)
Up until Week 15, the Detroit Lions only had one loss on the season. That is until Allen and the Bills came to town and handed the Lions their second loss of the season. Ultimately, this high-scoring affair ended up being 48-42 in favor of the Bills.
Impressively, Allen threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 68 rushing yards and two touchdowns. This performance all but cemented Allen as an MVP finalist for the 2024 season.
1. Week 14 – Josh Allen at Los Angeles Rams (51.9 pts)
Most likely if you had Allen on your roster you didn’t need this Week 14 performance to make the fantasy playoffs in your league. But just in case you did need it, Allen had the single highest-scoring game of any position for the year this week with an outstanding 51.9 points.
Allen threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns which would have been impressive by itself. Additionally, he added 82 rushing yards and a ridiculous three additional rushing touchdowns.
The debate next year will be whether Allen or Jackson will be drafted as the first quarterback in fantasy leagues. This impressive Week 14 performance wraps up the top 10 QB performances of the 2024 fantasy football season.
