March Madness Player Prop Bet – 3/17

As much as I wanted to grab Keegan Murray Over/Under points mark I’ve decided to go with Jordan Bohannon instead. Iowa has a chance of erupting for a huge number of points against Richmond. As we all know Iowa is one of the hottest teams right now headed to the tournament after dropping 100+ points in the first round of the Big 10 conference tournament versus Northwestern to then winning the Big 10 championship Iowa has relied on their game on the offensive side.

Richmond could find themselves in trouble early in this one if they’re not able to defend the 3 point line. They rank as the 11th worst team in 3PT% allowed at 34.3% out of all the teams in the tournament and we all know Iowa isn’t shy of shooting the three-point ball, they shoot it at 36.8%. With Murray scoring in this game he’s also going to need some help as well and I’m going with Bohannon who is second on the team chart behind Murray in Points per game at 10.9. Bohannon is one of Iowa’s most trusted and go-to shooters at the 3 point line as he’s made the most 3 point shots on the team this year and he ranks second out of all five starters right behind Murray in 3PT% at 37.8%, with Murray just edging him by 0.2%. Bohannon has definitely upped his game though in the last four games of win or go home averaging 13.0 PPG, shooting 43.3% from the 3 point line and 45.5% FG%, and 90% from the free-throw line.

For Richmond they found themselves down in both games of the tournament, coming back by 10 versus Dayton and then coming back late in the championship game against Davidson and it’s been their defense to put them behind in those games. Richmond Adjusted Defensive Efficiency is ranked in the bottom tier out of the 64 tournaments teams and also have the sixth-worst affected field goal percentage on the defensive side, this could very well be trouble for Richmond who goes up against Iowa in which they have the 2nd best Adjusted Offensive Efficiency in the nation. Richmond has also struggled to defend guards, Jalen Adaway an All Atlantic 10 first team dropped 21 on Richmond earlier this month, and also Hyunjung Lee an All Atlantic 10 first team from Davidson dropped 19 earlier in the season.
