Marquise Brown to Cardinals – Fantasy Football Outlook
The NFL draft lived up to the hype and excitement last night. The night was full of action, surprising picks, massive trades, and plenty of drama to digest.
With the top wide receivers flying off the board, it was not surprising to see the Arizona Cardinals make a move. With guys like Drake London, Treylon Burks, Jameson Williams, and Garrett Wilson all drafted, the Cardinals had to make a move somewhere and they did just that.
Trade Details:
Arizona Cardinals receive: WR Marquise Brown, pick No. 100 (third-round)
Baltimore Ravens receive: Pick No. 23 (first-round, later traded to the Buffalo Bills)
Redraft Outlook:
The move doesn’t do an awful lot for Hollywood Brown. Whilst he goes to a team that I would expect to throw the ball more, he will also have to fight for more targets. The addition of Hollywood Brown will give quarterback Kyler Murray a nice deep threat downfield, however for Brown, it probably isn’t the best move.
Dynasty Outlook:
Brown’s trade is better for dynasty players than it is for redraft. You have to think that an addition like this will help keep Kyler Murray in Arizona for the long term. The Cardinals do have aging wide receivers too in AJ Green and DeAndre Hopkins, so bringing in a younger receiver in Brown, who is only 24 gives Arizona a young, dynamic playmaker to build around quarterback Kyler Murray.
The dynasty outlook for Murray and Brown is positive, Brown’s role should only grow and he should become a massive part of the Cardinal’s offense going forward.
The roles of the other wide receivers, AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore, and Antoine Wesley look a little bit bleaker with Brown’s addition, however, we will just have to wait and see how everything plays out once the season is underway.
