Kyler Murray’s “Drama”

Shortly after the NFL Pro Bowl, Kyler Murray unfollowed the Arizona Cardinals on social media and he removed all the photos with the team on Instagram. This led to rumors of Murray being unhappy with the team and possibly wanting a trade.

Did Murray really want to be traded? If so, would the Cardinals actually trade him? Many were left wondering what is going to happen. What teams would potentially be in the market for Murray?

Just before the NFL Draft the Panthers,  Steelers, Seahawks, and Falcons were all teams in the market for a quarterback. At the end of the third round of the NFL draft the Steelers, Falcons, Panthers, and surprisingly the Titans all addressed the quarterback position. Now, there was a trade in the first round of the NFL draft that could have a big impact on the Murray situation. Let’s discuss what that trade was and what impact it might have.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown Trade

The Baltimore Ravens traded Marquise Brown and a third-round pick (No. 100) to the Arizona Cardinals for a first-round pick (No. 23). Brown and Murray were teammates in college at Oklahoma in 2017 and 2018. Whether or not Murray knew about the trade beforehand this was an obvious move by the Cardinals front office to make Murray happy and keep him in Arizona. Will this move work? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling it will make Murray happy.

Brown goes to a team that should be more pass-heavy than the Ravens and with DeAndre Hopkins there Brown won’t draw attention from the No. 1 cornerback. If the Cardinals work out a long-term deal with Murray this could be good for Marquise Brown’s dynasty value.

Rondale Moore

The addition of Brown pretty much kills Moore’s value. This year Moore will be competing with DeAndre Hopkins, Brown, A.J. Green, and Zach Ertz for snaps and targets. Moore will likely see less time on the field than he did last year.

That’s after a rookie season with  54 receptions for 435 yards and just one touchdown in 14 games finishing as the WR65 in PPR. In 10 of his games, he failed to even get 30 yards receiving. Without one or more injuries to the other pass catchers on the team, I don’t see any way you can feel confident starting Moore even in the deepest of dynasty leagues.

Lamar Jackson

Now let’s talk about the second victim of this trade, Lamar Jackson. Jackson just lost his WR1 who just had a 1,000-yard season and Jackson took to Twitter to express his frustration about the trade. Not only did the Baltimore Ravens trade away their best wide receiver when they were already weak at the position but they failed to address it in the draft.

This is a big hit for Jackson who has only one season with over 3,000 passing yards. Could Jackson be the next player to unfollow his team on social media?
