NFL-DFS-Week-3-DraftKings-Value-Picks-and-Bargains

Welcome to Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season. In this series, we cover the top DraftKings value picks and bargains on the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) slate for Week 3.

We have a couple of weeks under our belt now. To recap Week 3, Justice Hill looked okay overall and Adam Trautman only saw just one target in a prime spot. The best value play we had was Nico Collins who had an amazing game. Time to see what Week 3 has in store for our DraftKings lineups!

Quarterback – CJ Stroud, $5,300, Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are looking for their first win of the season still and I am not anticipating a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. What I am anticipating is CJ Stroud to throw the ball a ton being down on the scoreboard. In the past two games, Stroud has thrown 44 and 47 passes. In each game, he had a 63 percent passing completion. The matchup is enticing while our Fantasy Football D-PAC Consistency Score shows a 6.7 score which is the top five. To add to good measure, Stroud was the Week 2 NFL leader in passing yards accruing 384 passing yards.

Improvements have been made by Stroud from each game. Stroud’s fantasy score improved over 10 DraftKings points from 11.68 to 25.46 points. The shoulder was an obvious issue for him last game that was hurting him throughout the game but having the week to prepare can only help him.  Stroud has stackable tools to easily accrue DraftKings points to help your lineup.

Honorable Mentions: Sam Howell and Geno Smith

Running Back – Javonte Williams, $5,500, Denver Broncos

I spoke about the fantasy outlook for Javonte Williams and the upside is certainly there while we patiently watch his workload increase. Williams has seen 12 and 13 rushing attempts. Last week proved a lot for me with Williams’s role because of Samaje Perine only seeing one carry. Is this the week Williams booms with his snap count? I think yes. The injuries that Williams sustained look to be a thing of the past.

The run defense disappeared last week on the Miami Dolphins. Williams is in an elite spot to obtain all the yards he wants. Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley on the Los Angeles Chargers for 201 rushing yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. Last week, Rhamondre Stevenson had a stat line of 15-50-1 against the Miami Dolphins. Williams is in line for a bigger workload and has the upside to earn the rushing yards.

Honorable Mentions: Jerome Ford and Zack Moss

Wide Receiver – Jayden Reed, $3,800, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers may have found a gem from the 2023 NFL Draft in the second round. Jayden Reed is coming off a two-touchdown game against the Atlanta Falcons. The New Orleans Saints defense is no joke but we saw Adam Thielen on the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football able to obtain a stat line of 5-57-1.

Christian Watson was out last week and due to the hamstring injury, the timetable can certainly be all over the place. If Watson plays, I still like Reed to be able to see targets and prove his worth on the field already. Jordan Love has formed a connection with him in the red zone. The one tool that Reed has been able to show is his yards after the catch making plays as well. In addition, I am anticipating the Green Bay Packers to involve Reed more in the offense every week.

Honorable Mentions: Rashid Shaheed and Tank Dell

Tight End – Sam LaPorta, $4,000, Detroit Lions

This seems to be the rookie week on my value plays but due to the price tags, I am taking advantage of the plays! Sam LaPorta is a rookie out of Iowa who was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. His presence on the field has immediately been felt, to say the least. I was extremely surprised by the price tag at first glance.

In terms of snap counts, LaPorta has seen 83% and 82% of the snaps on the field. The next tight end on the team was Brock Wright only seeing 39 percent of the snaps. LaPorta’s role has firmly been his as the starting tight end on the team.  Additionally, he has already earned over 100 receiving yards in two games this season and the connection is blossoming with Goff. Furthermore, week by week we will see the involvement improve for LaPorta.

Honorable Mentions: Zach Ertz and Hayden Hurst
