NFL-Rookies-Who-Look-Like-Draft-Day-Steals-for-2024

The 2024 NFL Draft was the 89th annual meeting that took place last April. During the draft days, NFL teams were looking for new talented players who could bring additional quality to their squad. They selected a record of six quarterbacks during the first round, which is a new record.
There were some highly promising rookies at this year’s NFL draft, which got many fans super excited. A record of seven wide receivers and 23 offensive players were also among the selected players. Below we’ll reveal some of the 2024 NFL rookies that look like draft day steals.

Adonai Mitchell (Indianapolis Colts) – WR

We begin with Adonai Mitchell, a 21-year-old wide receiver drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. The player wasn’t pleased when he fell all the way to the 52nd overall pick before the Colts decided to select him. Right upon the draft day, many considered him as a first-round target.

Mitchell chose to wear the number 10 which represents the 10 wide receivers that the teams selected before him. Shane Steichen, the Colts’ head coach, sees Mitchell as the perfect fit for his style of play.

This head coach focuses on building his attacking waves around explosive vertical pass plays. Mitchell showed his amazing skill set in his first professional practice sessions with his new team. Hopefully, he can help the Colts achieve more than every sportsbook expects from them for the 2024/25 season.

Jaden Hicks (Kansas City Chiefs) – S

Next is Jaden Hicks, a safety player that played college football at Washington State. At the 2024 NFL Draft, he attracted the attention of the Kansas City Chiefs, especially pleasing Dave Merritt, the team’s defensive backs coach.

Merritt defines him as the prototype safety player. For him, Hicks has the perfect body, size, and mental ability to become a really good NFL player. This rookie is 6’2″ and weighs 211 pounds.

The toughest job for the Chiefs is to find the right spot for Hicks. The back-to-back Super Bowl Champions already have Bryan Cook, Justin Reid, and Chamarri Conner in their squad. But, this doesn’t worry the team’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, as he knows how to deal with this issue.

Cooper DeJean (Philadelphia Eagles) – CB

Another draft that looks like a steal is the selection of Cooper DeJean by the Philadelphia Eagles. They acquired this cornerback player during the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.

The team will surely train this rookie in multiple roles as he is capable of performing even as a safety player. But, early expectations indicate that the Eagles will use him as their primary slot defender.

DeJean’s versatility proved to be one of his best features adequately shadowing his one-on-one matchups. He has very good chances of working on the inside as the team also features Darius Slay, Mitchell, and James Bradberry.

Bo Nix (Denver Broncos) – QB

The last of the record six quarterbacks selected at the 2024 NFL draft was Bo Nix. This player joined the Denver Broncos, which many found to be a bit of a reach. But, the team didn’t have much of a choice as they lacked a second-round pick.

They also couldn’t risk losing a rookie that they see as a long-term starter. Nix doesn’t have the same talent level as the other five quarterbacks. But, he does have the much-needed experience.

Sean Payton, the Broncos’ coach, said that Nix is a very smart player who has picked up the pace very quickly. The coach believes that he is farther along the most.

Keon Coleman (Buffalo Bills) – WR

Lastly, we have Keon Coleman, a 21-year-old wide receiver drafted by the Buffalo Bills. This team was super content to trade out its first round entirely and choose Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall pick.

With this move, the Bills passed on several wide receivers, each of which features a variety of skill sets. Coleman is capable of making spectacular grabs while playing as an above-the-rim target player.

Fans already love him thanks to his affable personality and amazing performances. The team’s quarterback Josh Allen stated that his style of play is something they needed in their offense. Safety player Damar Hamlin said that no one can tell if he’s a rookie or not as he’s been working super hard.
