Revenge Games: Week 2

After a long wait for the 2021 NFL season to get here, we are in full swing and headed into Week 2. Here at The FF Faceoff, one of the biggest tools that we feature is our Revenge Game Tracker. We cover all of the matchups where players are facing their former teams, whether they be offensive or defensive players. Fantasy-relevant or not, we’ve got you covered. We’ll be taking a look at some of the key matchups to look forward to and just maybe get a slight edge on your fantasy opponents by starting that one player that happens to be facing his former team. No, this isn’t a start or sit article, rather just a breakdown of players to take an extra look at, or teams to take an extra look at when placing your bets this week. Here is the first of our series in Revenge Games: Week 2.

Ravens vs Chiefs

Sammy Watkins is the only notable name in this one for fantasy football purposes, and we all know how frustrating he can be to have on your teams. That is if he is even on a fantasy roster anymore. In deeper leagues, you might be looking for some upside in one of your Flex spots and might consider Watkins here. The Ravens wide receivers are far from reliable, but there’s always the off chance that Watkins blows up. Maybe more so as he goes up against one of his three former teams.

Bears vs Bengals

Everyone is well aware of the quarterback situation in Chicago right now, but going up against his former team, Andy Dalton might be worth looking at. In Superflex and 2QB leagues, he might be worth taking a shot on as someone to potentially have a nice game. He’s got everything to prove right now and his future in the NFL depends on it. Lighting up his former team would not be surprising given the Bengals defense and the grudge that Dalton’s got.

Andy Dalton

Lions @ Packers

The Lions just had D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams run all over a tough 49ers defense. They both finished as top-four running backs with Williams getting 25 points compared to Swift’s 24.4 points. The Lions surprised everyone in Week 1 and now go on the road to face the Packers who just had an absolutely embarrassing Week 1 performance. Williams is absolutely worth starting right now and especially as he goes up against his former team.

Texans @ Browns

Similar to Dalton, Tyrod Taylor is starting against his former team and has to head back to Cleveland who has been on fire. Again, you might consider him in Superflex or 2QB leagues, but that’s really it. Cleveland’s defense is tough and this Texans team is atrocious, even if they did just beat the Jaguars. I expect them to get a beatdown this week from the Browns.
