Welcome back to Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets.

To no surprise, the 2023 NFL regular season has flown by as we head into Week 18. With plenty of crucial matchups and division titles on the line, there’s plenty of action to follow in the last week of the 2023 regular season. With that, we’ll be breaking down the top player prop bets that you should be considering in this Saturday Night Football matchup.

Saturday night we have a matchup between the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite prop bets for Saturday’s game.

All props and odds are from DraftKings.

Player Prop Bets – Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Devin Singletary Over 62.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Many expected Singletary to be Dameon Pierce’s clear-cut backup this season. Instead, the veteran running back has taken over as the featured guy in the backfield. He has averaged 52.2 rushing yards per game this year. However, Singletary has been outstanding over the past two months. The veteran has averaged 78.3 rushing yards per game since Week 10, totaling 65 or more in 62.5% of those contests. Furthermore, he has had more games with over 79 rushing yards (four) than under 65 (three) during that span.

When the Texans and Colts faced off in Week 2, Singletary had 14 rushing yards on four attempts. However, Houston’s backfield had only 51 rushing yards against Indianapolis, the lowest total surrendered by the team this season. More importantly, the Colts have surrendered 106.4 rushing yards per game to running backs, the fifth-most in the NFL. They have given up 122.1 rushing yards per game to running backs over their past seven contests, including 100 or more in 71.4% of those matchups.

Gardner Minshew Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-165)

Unfortunately, we only got a few games from Anthony Richardson before he suffered a season-ending injury. However, Minshew has played well, putting the Colts in position to make the playoffs when many expected the team to have a top-10 NFL Draft pick. Yet, the veteran hasn’t been a touchdown machine, averaging 1.2 passing scores per game since taking over as the full-time starter in Week 6. Furthermore, he has averaged only one passing touchdown per game over the past eight weeks.

Minshew came off the bench in the Week 2 matchup against the Texans, totaling one passing touchdown on 23 attempts. Meanwhile, Houston has held opposing quarterbacks to the second-fewest number of passing touchdowns this year, giving up only 1.1 per game. While they surrendered three passing touchdowns to Joe Flacco two weeks ago, the Texans’ pass defense has been outstanding in 2023. Houston has given up one or fewer passing touchdowns in 75% of their games, including two of the past three.

Nico Collins Over 74.5 Receiving Yards (-125)

The former Michigan star was a popular third-year breakout candidate during the preseason, thanks to the arrival of C.J. Stroud. Collins has been nothing short of outstanding, averaging a career-high 78.7 receiving yards per game as the new No. 1 wide receiver. However, the pass-catcher has averaged 89.3 receiving yards per game in the 12 contests he played at least 50% of the snaps, totaling 80 or more in 58.3% of those matchups. More importantly, Collins should see an uptick in targets on Saturday.

Houston won’t have Tank Dell or Noah Brown this week because of injuries. Furthermore, Robert Woods is questionable with a hip injury but likely won’t play after not practicing all week. More importantly, the Colts got obliterated by Davante Adams and Aidan O’Connell last week, giving up 126 receiving yards to the superstar wide receiver. More importantly, Collins had 146 receiving yards on only nine targets in the Week 2 matchup against the Colts.

Jonathan Taylor to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-205)

Despite struggling with injuries this season, Taylor has played well. After totaling only 14 rushing attempts in his first two games, the former Wisconsin star has averaged 17.9 attempts per game since his slow start. The superstar running back has missed seven games with injuries. Yet he leads the Colts with six rushing touchdowns, totaling one more than Zack Moss, despite playing in four fewer games. More importantly, Taylor has had at least one touchdown in six of his past seven games, including five straight.

Furthermore, the superstar running back has been the team’s go-to guy early in games. Taylor has the first Indianapolis touchdown in five consecutive games that he has played. Meanwhile, the Texans have completely shut down running backs lately, giving up only two rushing touchdowns since Week 10. However, they gave up a rushing score to Zack Moss in Week 2 and have little chance of keeping Taylor out of the end zone.

Dalton Schultz Over 44.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Last week, Schultz had only 19 receiving yards against the Tennessee Titans. However, it was C.J. Stroud’s first game back from a two-week-long concussion. Furthermore, he faced the top defense at defending tight ends. Schultz was playing well before that game, averaging 59.5 receiving yards per game in the two matchups without Stroud, totaling 58 or more in both contests. Unfortunately, the Texans will be without Tank Dell and Noah Brown this week, while Robert Woods is unlikely to play, creating more targets for the tight end.

More importantly, Schultz has averaged 46 receiving yards per game since the team lost Dell to a season-ending injury, totaling 58 or more in 66.7% of those contests. Meanwhile, the Colts have surrendered the 10th-most receiving yards to tight end this year, giving up 53.6 per game. They have given up 49 or more receiving yards to tight ends in 68.8% of the games this season. Don’t be surprised if Stroud leans on Schultz with his wide receiver core banged up.
