Welcome to our Week 10 edition of Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em. We will be covering players that you should either be looking to find a replacement for or make sure you start in your fantasy football lineups this week. This article uses our very own metrics such as Consistency Score and D-PAC. These are two unique metrics that we’ve developed and offer to you for free, exclusively from Faceoff Sports Network. Learn more about them below if you’re new here. Let’s get right into it for this week with Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10 Fantasy Football.
Quarterbacks
Start ‘Em
Andy Dalton, New Orleans Saints
I never thought I would pick Andy Dalton as a start, but here we are. He’s ranked 14th in the league with a consistency score of 6.93 right between Tua Tagovaiola and Aaron Rodgers. He also has a juicy matchup with the Steelers this week, who are giving up over 20 points per game to quarterbacks with a third-highest in the league D-PAC score of 9.03. As much as I hate to say it, Dalton is a decent start this week for your fantasy football teams.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
A winning team coming off of their bye week will always catch my eye. Daniel Jones and the Giants take on the Texans in their Week 10 contest. Although on paper this looks like a tough one, Houston is giving up 180.6 rushing yards per game – more than enough for Jones to develop a healthy floor this week. Another interesting stat for Jones is that of all the NFL divisions, his QBR (quarterback rating) is the highest against the AFC North at 104.2. He’ll be a mighty fine streamer this week.
Sit ‘Em
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings
Kirk Cousins has been a solid start just about every week this year. He averages right around 19 fantasy points per week and has a top-10 consistency score of 9.06. However, the Vikings play the Bills this week and I don’t really like this matchup. Not so much because of the Bills’ defense, since they are really good against opposing quarterbacks only giving up 11 points per game and a low D-PAC score of 4.02, but more so due to game scripts. The Bills are showing cracks in this defense, and it looks like you can run against them again. I think we see a heavy dose of Dalvin Cook this week and not a ton of passing the ball.
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks
Geno Smith has been one heck of a surprise this season with multiple touchdown passes in seven of nine games. However, heading into Tampa Bay isn’t easy for even the best signal callers. The Buccaneers have allowed multiple passing scores in just two of their last six games. It’s not the worst matchup, but there are a number of other quarterbacks I’d start over Smith like Marcus Mariota or Jimmy Garoppolo – both of which are probably on your league’s waiver wire.
Running Backs
Start ‘Em
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
Most of the Bears’ offense over the last few weeks have purely come from Justin Fields running and passing the ball. This week, however, they face the Lions who are giving up a whopping 27 points per game, and a D-PAC score of 15.09 against running backs. Herbert’s usage has not always been that consistent, but with this juicy matchup against the Lions, I just can’t stay away from starting him.
Jeff Wilson Jr., Miami Dolphins
Back under the tutelage of his former offensive coordinator from San Francisco, Jeff Wilson Jr. was immediately utilized in Miami’s ground attack. He tallied 72 yards on 12 touches and scored a touchdown in his debut with the club. Going forward, I see a pretty even split with Raheem Mostert for the rest of the season. This probably means you won’t get a week-winning performance from him but he’ll do enough damage to help you out. Going up against Cleveland’s eighth-best D-PAC rating makes him a solid Week 10 start for fantasy football.
Sit ‘Em
Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks
Since taking over the starting role in Seattle, Kenneth Walker has been solid but has been inconsistent and it appears to be due to opposing defenses. Against the Charger’s leaky run defense, he had a great game. Then against the Giants’ defense, which is better against the run, Walker didn’t perform too well. Then against another bad run defense in the Cardinals, he had another good game. This week he faces the Buccaneers who are stingy against the run, only giving up 19 points per game and a D-PAC score of 6.96, it’s once again going to be tough sledding for Walker.
Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills
With the uncertainty of Josh Allen this week, this could be a rather bold prediction. Without their elite signal caller at 100%, the Bills could lean on Devin Singletary and their other running backs more often. However, Minnesota has been rather stout against the run this season with no player accumulating 50 rushing yards since Week 4 and only one of them surpassing 50 yards receiving all season. A touchdown could save his day, but Singletary hasn’t run one in all year and I doubt he will in Week 10.
Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em
Christian Kirk, Jacksonville Jaguars
Chrisitan Kirk had a strong performance last week, with eight receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. It’s been a rough start this season for the Jaguars’ offense, but it seems to be finally finding some ground. They face the Chiefs this week who are giving up 41 points per game to opposing wide receivers and a league-high 23.05 D-PAC score. I expect Kirk to be targeted a ton again this week and will deliver.
Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears
The passing numbers have been improving in Chicago in recent weeks and Darnell Mooney has caught five balls in three of his last four matchups. The Lions are one of the weakest defenses in the league, giving up points like Halloween candy. They’re also allowing 7.8 yards per passing attempt – the highest mark in the league. This will be a high-scoring game and I want players from both sides in my lineups. Mooney is a great start, especially if you’re suffering bye week troubles.
Sit ‘Em
Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants
Wan’Dale Robinson has been a hot waiver wire pickup over the last few weeks. So if you just got this flashy new toy on your bench, keep him there for this week. The Giants face the Texans this week, who have been strong against wide receivers only giving up 27 points per game and a league-low 8.37 D-PAC score. Robinson also has not been a huge piece of this offense thus far only averaging only five targets per game. Owners can be optimistic, as his snap percentage has been steadily increasing to its highest level last week at 69%. However, it’s not quite the time to start him yet.
Rondale Moore, Arizona Cardinals
Don’t let the numbers fool you, the Rams are a tough matchup for opposing wide receivers. They have been surrendering points to the position, but it’s been very lop-sided. The Rams have the fourth toughest D-PAC rating of 10.47 against wideouts. The alpha receivers have been doing very well, meaning good things for DeAndre Hopkins, but it’s been hard for the rest of the pass catchers. The last time they allowed multiple receivers to catch five or more passes and eclipse 50 yards in a game was in Week 3. I like Hopkins, but Rondale Moore is out for me this week.
Tight Ends
Start ‘Em
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
It’s been a few weeks since I picked Tyler Higbee for a start, but this seemed like the best spot. He hasn’t been overly consistent, ranked 22nd in the league with a consistency score of 1.93, but I love this matchup, and what tight end really has been consistent this season? The Rams face division rival Cardinals this week, who are giving up 20 points per game to tight ends. I expect Higbee to come up big this week.
T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
With less than a week to prepare with his new squad, T.J. Hockenson immediately became a big part of the offense, catching all nine of his targets for 70 yards. It’s clear that he is going to be a big part of the passing attack going forward. Against Buffalo’s strong defense, Kirk Cousins will have to make quick, short throws to his pass catchers to avoid constantly getting squished.
Sit ‘Em
Zach Ertz, Arizona Cardinals
Some might call me crazy for this pick, and that is valid with Ertz coming off back-to-back solid performances and a second in the NFL consistency score of 4.27. However, the Rams have been solid against tight ends this season only allowing 6 points per game and a league-low D-PAC score of 1.98 to opposing tight ends. This is not a great matchup for him, and I would try to find other options.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Goedert has been one of the more reliable tight ends for fantasy football in 2022. In Week 10, he’ll face off with one of his most daunting challenges of the year. Until Week 9, Washington hadn’t allowed a single tight end to eclipse 40 receiving yards with only one score by the position all season. I also think this game will be low scoring and a lot closer than many people think with the Eagles running game taking center stage. It’s going to be hard to bench Goedert, but if you can I think you should.
