AFC Championship Predictions
The AFC is wide open. While it was once viewed as the superior conference over the NFC, that has not been the case thanks to significant injuries to quarterbacks including Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers. Outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers, one could make a case for all of the AFC playoff teams to make a run to the Super Bowl.
However, it is clear that the Baltimore Ravens are the top dog and the No. 1 overall seed in the conference for a reason. In fact, there may be only one team that can stand in Baltimore’s way. And no, it is not the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills. Call me crazy, but it is the Cleveland Browns.
Even without Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb, the Browns have been one of the best teams in the NFL. They win ugly, with defense, running the football, and Joe Flacco. The Browns are in a unique spot. The one team that may be able to defeat the Browns is the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round.
What makes the Browns such a tough out is the fact that they can play and win in terrible weather. Weather is taken out of the equation when they travel to Houston where the Texans have a distinct home advantage. If the Browns can pull off a road win in the opening round, they are a Super Bowl live wire.
Who Wins The AFC Championship: AFC Title Game Picks
When it is all said and done, the hottest team in the AFC will punch their ticket to Super Bowl 58. That is the Bills. Once the Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Josh Allen and company went on a tear in the second half of the NFL season. Once counted out of even making the playoffs, the Bills ultimately won the AFC East.
The Bills will ride that wave of success into Super Bowl 58.
NFC Championship Predictions
The NFC is extremely top-heavy when it comes to teams that can make it to Super Bowl 58. You have the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys. The top two seeds in the NFC have a distinct advantage over the rest of the field.
While the 49ers have cemented themselves as the best team in the NFL in most people’s eyes, the Cowboys are the best team at home. And since they locked up the No. 2 seed, they will play every game of the NFL Playoffs at home unless they have to see the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
With the Philadelphia Eagles seemingly out of it thanks to their downward spiral that just may cost head coach Nick Sirianni his job, there is only one other team that may be able to make a Super Bowl appearance out of the NFC. That team will be the winner of the Detroit Lions-Los Angeles Rams game on Super Wild Card Weekend.
The Lions have a talented roster that will punish you on the ground with one of the best offensive lines in the NFL to pair with a superior running back tandem featuring David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. They also have a quarterback who has already made a Super Bowl in his career in Jared Goff.
However, the Lions’ defense has been leaky facing good teams and at this point, it is hard to trust head coach Dan Campbell. Campbell takes one too many risks and will shoot himself in the foot, which is why the Rams just might walk out of Wild Card Weekend punching their ticket to the Divisional Round.
Similar to the AFC’s Browns, the Rams are a live underdog. This Rams team still has its core from its recent Super Bowl win. They still have the head coach Sean McVay, quarterback Matthew Stafford, top wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and future Hall of Fame interior defensive lineman Aaron Donald.
Who Wins The NFC Championship: NFC Title Game Picks
One of the thorns in the side of the Dallas Cowboys through the years has been the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. The other is the 49ers. However, the Cowboys have also beaten themselves, which is something we have not seen them do at home this year.
The Cowboys should be able to get themselves to the NFC Championship game with a pair of home games in front of them. The question is whether or not they can get past the 49ers. If the Cowboys can get the Divisional Round monkey off their backs, they will have momentum entering the classic Championship Sunday showdown with the 49ers.
This will be the year that the Cowboys get it done.
Super Bowl 58 Predictions
Just like we saw a rematch of 1990s NFC Championship games, we will also get a rematch of two Super Bowls in that same era when the Bills and Cowboys meet in Super Bowl 58. In the regular season, the Bills dismantled the Cowboys on the ground, but this time Dallas will be ready for James Cook and force Josh Allen to throw the football.
And this year, the result has not always been favorable when the football and the game is on the arm of Allen. If the Cowboys can force turnovers, you can only give Dak Prescott and his offense the ball so many times before they make the enemy defense pay.
The Cowboys win Super Bowl 58.
